Shaw Bandwidth Chart

Has anyone else notice that Shaw secure's website has changed and main page.
And what caught my eye the MOST was under the Shaw Secure page, their is a Chart finally that shows your usage lol. I've NEVER had that shown on my secure page before. From what I read it was only for high usage users that got flagged and thus, were given a shaw meter showing them their usage.

Have I been flagged lol? or Does everyone have access to this now?

corollagtSr5 02-08-2011 09:25 PM

its for everyone

Spectre_Cdn 02-08-2011 09:26 PM

Everyone has it now. It seems like all of the pages changed in the past 48 hours. Previously, you could view your bandwidth usage through a Google Chrome plugin that would log you in and link you to the usage chart, even if you haven't been flagged.

Gunsmokez 02-08-2011 09:26 PM

wow, I have been consistently over lol. 150 to 250 gigs a month.

Time to check into Telus Turbo 250 gig limit.

satek 02-08-2011 09:44 PM

Yup, I've been over every month too....fml

ruthless 02-08-2011 09:48 PM

Nightwalker 02-08-2011 09:52 PM

Wow, their whole site looks redesigned for me since a few days ago.

tamazoid 02-08-2011 10:29 PM

WTF, odd I don't even see it anymore.

eFx[A2C] 02-08-2011 11:03 PM

When they had the old site the usage meter did not work during late night periods. Probably the same thing with the new site.

hotjoint 02-09-2011 07:33 AM

I've always had access to it. I'm using the plug in for my chrome but with shaw's decision to review this again in 3 months due to public backlash, go nuts downloading :)

friedn00dles 02-09-2011 07:55 AM

screw you shaw! I do not torrent but rather have access to multiple $$$$$$$$$$ & Rapid Share accounts to download directly.

Two fresh 2TB HDD is waiting to be filled :)

fsy82 02-09-2011 10:29 AM

my chart shows no data

kyoshiro 02-09-2011 10:44 AM

they're thankfully not charging for overusage until atleast another 2 months cuz they got shocked by how many people changed over to telus (including myself) thus theyre saying they gonna have a customer discussion session lol
but yeah not going back cuz they be pulling shit behind people's back

they still think i owe em 270 bucks cuz I returend my equipment via UPS

Graeme S 02-09-2011 11:10 AM

Technically speaking they've always had the right to charge you for overage. This whole kerfuffle lately has actually been about WHOLESALE sales to smaller ISPs. The idea being that once the smaller ISPs can't give unlimited plans anymore (cause they have to pay), they won't have to worry about losing customers who download a fuckton.

Apparently the rate they want to charge wholesalers is like 10c/GB, which seems fairly decent all in all. This means that it must be costing the providers at least half that to provide bandwidth.

I plan on writing in to the CRTC and making the point that if "90% of users are not approaching their bandwidth caps", then it should instead be those users who receive the adjustment. Leave the smaller proportion of overusing individuals to pay their current rates, and lower the basic rate for those who don't approach anywhere near their caps.

not anytime soon. They are still discussing how to tackle this situation

Nightwalker 02-09-2011 02:33 PM

I just took a look, I'm constantly under and I download everything. I'm on Extreme so my cap is 100gb.

I wish you could edit your packages and change shit online. Their online area is pretty fucking useless.

Revillusion GT 02-09-2011 03:38 PM

LOL I'm almost double ... every month

Culverin 02-09-2011 04:52 PM

I'm on Extreme too, and I thought I was in the 100gb month range.
Turns out my usage was pushing 130gb last month.

geeknerd 02-09-2011 05:09 PM

is anything happenning with telus?
