Additional performance features for the Jetta GLI include:

- Track tuned four-way Independent Performance Suspension for superb handling
- DSG automatic gearbox that offers steering wheel mounted paddles shifters, super quick shift times and rev-matched downshifts
-XDS cross differential system that debuted on the Volkswagen GTI, that helps prevent inside wheel spin during cornering
- Four wheel disc brakes with floating red calipers

basically a much improved version of the regular jetta for cheap

kknater 02-09-2011 08:58 PM

!Aznboi128 02-09-2011 09:02 PM

^ yup no crappy material here

liu13 02-09-2011 09:03 PM

trancehead 02-09-2011 09:04 PM

The_AK 02-09-2011 09:07 PM

independent suspension = big plus

hirevtuner 02-09-2011 09:16 PM

front looks like a ford fusion and back looks like audi a4

too_slow 02-09-2011 09:25 PM

This car undercuts the base model GTI by over $2000USD in the States. I'm curious to see what the Canadian pricing would be. :)

skyxx 02-09-2011 10:56 PM

Don't like it. Still prefer GTI.

FerrariEnzo 02-09-2011 11:07 PM

twitchyzero 02-09-2011 11:15 PM

the interior looks dated

The lower center part... surrounded by "Auto" / "AC" / "OFF" / "Dual" keep making me think that slot is for cassettes...

flagella 02-10-2011 01:32 AM

^agreed. Looks extremely outdated too. Still prefer this way more.

you can press the plastic in a Caliber or Avenger or Genesis and it'll be soft. Haha, since when does plastic pressing became a sign of quality?

Sigh.

VW is ruining their lineup for US consumption.

crazyazn 02-10-2011 10:34 AM

It looks pretty bad (the outside)

Nvasion 02-10-2011 10:39 AM

a4 exterior

ilvtofu 02-10-2011 10:43 AM

Are those the same wheels as the fahrenheit?
They look pretty similar IMO

For the price-fun you can't really beat it, I'd definitely consider this if I were in the market

Skyline350gt 02-10-2011 11:11 AM

What? No HID's. VW really screwed up. Even the last generation Jetta had HID's.

fall of 2011

this is my next car for sure. Red on black. Looks so aggresive and sexy. My sister has a mk5 GLI and its the funnest thing to drive and not too heavy on gas consumption.

platinum300 02-10-2011 05:52 PM

I never mentioned the Jetta is a crappy car because of no HID's. Please tell me where I even mentioned that Soltaaa. So please take:facepalm: this back.

Meh, i'm not complaining. They lowered the MSRP compared to the outgoing model... Costs have to be cut somewhere. Besides, it's not like HIDs are expensive nowadays. Get one for like $40 off EBay and put it in yourself :)
