Fedor vs Silva - Strike Force (Feb 12)- *Video* I'm sure most of you know who Fedor is. And He fought this weekend. Just thought some of you may want to watch the fight. http://www.mma-core.com/videos/_Fedo...016829&tid=100 Silva is one beast of a man. Fedor Wiki; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedor_Emelianenko Silva Wiki; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Silva_(fighter) Fedor vs Werdum http://www.mma-core.com/videos/_Fedo...016794&tid=100 This is his other fight in Strike force where he lost to Werdum. skip to 9:50 to watch the beginning of the fight. |
i liked the part when silva tried to put the shirt on after the fight and it got stuck on his chin. lol edit. damn they cut the video right before he puts his shirt on |
So was Fedor's orbital bone broken or something? That was an insane amount of swelling. I enjoyed all of the fights from last nights card, thank you streaming :) |
I was pretty upset that night... kinda had a feeling it was going to happen.. Fedor was the man in his prime... but i would much rather see him stop now than keep going and getting beaten up by these new young and hungry up-and-comers.. everyones getting old.. in the world of professional sports your body is everything you've got.. it's basically your bread and butter.. so you've gotta really take care of it.. unfortunately like everything else on this planet.. time will eventually catch up to you... and with this sport in particular... your body can only handle so much.. still my favorite heavy weight of all time. I salute you Fedor |
even Federer loses, and he is the best tennis ever saw.Its allright Fedor, dust yourself off, reload, and get back in there! thanks for the link |

Watching the Randelman slam and his comback from that still makes me go :fullofwin: |
Best Highlight EVER |
Fedor doesn't look into it. He has gained a lot of weight since his prime. And his body doesn't look like it's in tip top shape. I mean his fight against Werdum, he looks fat. If he cut weight and fought at 205, i'm sure he would do much better. I think heavy weight is out of his league. He's not big enough. |
are you retarded? his body has been the same for the last 50 years |

he's never looked to be in tip top shape like you say. He's always looked like a regular guy you would find in a Moscow bar. But he is so skilled and determined, you can't just say "he's let himself go what a loser, he should drop down a weight class and fight guys his own size" oh and BTW his record is now 31-3, with two of the losses being by doctor stoppage. which one of your favorite UFC tough guys have a record like that? |
I blame his god awful management. M1 Global are a bunch of idiots.. those guys babied him wayy to much.. everyone knows it.. fedor wanted to fight.. he would have fought anyone you put in front of him.. . if it were up to fedor it would have been fight after fight.. step into UFC and dummied all those guys too.. he didn't deserve to go out like this... especially against a guy like Bigfoot.. owell.. it is what it is.. |

absolutely... he beat the most top tier guys in their prime.. smashed nogueira when he was on a 13 fight win streak in pride.. smashed cro cop in his prime.. when cro cop was the most feared striker in MMA.. He IS a definitely LIGHT for a heavyweight.. but that's fedor he says.. hey... this is my weight.. this is what i fight at.. come at me BRO. Fedor looks like a big.. teddy bear or something.. he doesn't look like much.. but god damn.. def a man of his time.. |
Part of Fedor's legacy is that he destroyed guys who were way bigger than him. |
fedor are fighting freaks instead of someone competitive to his own size because of m-1 global's greed for money |
He's ducking Ubereem. |

You said it yourself. He looks like a regular guy. So can you imagine how dominant he could be if he got into shape? He has natural talent, combine that with GSP's hard work and determination he would be even better than he was in his prime. He definitely got chubbier. Look at his pride fights compared to now, in pride he isn't as chubby. I'm sorry that is just a simple observation. Don't get me wrong, Fedor is one of my favourite fighters ever. I love him to death and I was honestly heart broken when he lost his last two fights. If he fought at 205, do you not think he would dominate even at his age? I understand he is known for fighter bigger guys, that's great. But, like you said again, he's getting older. So there is nothing wrong with moving to a more realistic weight class. |
^ Didn't the Canucks have Wellwood and Bernier lose weight and put more time into training and their play seemed to regress rather than improve? If that's the case then perhaps some athletes perform better with a more natural physique and its best not to mess with it. |
^Just because they might be two examples of working out and trainer more didn't help, that doesn't mean people shouldn't still try it. Fedor should just try it. I'm sure it can't hurt. Look at Kesler. Sure seemed to work for him. To each their own I guess |
Silva looks like: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_j2rm_reb_ww/SA...20w%20face.jpg On topic. Fedor is the greatest pound for pound fighter that ever lived. Actually, more that a pound for pound fighter, cuz he beat guys that weighed way more than him. Most of the bigger dudes he fought were slow and easily knocked out by Fedor's power punches/tricky submissions. Silva on the other hand is hella fast for his size, not to mention he was working on his stand up just for Fedor. Plus he weighed in at 285 lbs on fight day which is an insane above average advantage that shouldn't be given to any fighter. When you watch his fights, it's different, he straight brawls ape shit with ferocity on the stand up game, but has the most trained and delicate submission techniques. |
^ |
thats not a freak fight. THIS is a freak fight |

Can I have the opinion that the moon is actually the size of a marble? Just because you can't take me up there to prove it firsthand, doesn't mean I might be right. He is fighting at roughly the same weight and size he has been for all of his professional career. Sure from the ages of 24-34 everyone's body changes a little bit, regardless of training and nutrition. But to say he has gained a lot of weight and looks fat is 100% wrong. It's funny, because after every one of his fights people say the exact same things you are. And they are always wrong; and they always act like they have been watching him for years, when in fact all they have seen are a couple of low quality highlight videos on the web. Also, the fact that you think ripped=ability means you don't know much about MMA to begin with, so I am not surprised you don't know much about the best fighter in the sport. Fedor needs the extra weight, because he is a small heavyweight. Pretty simple really. Also, do you think cutting down to an unnatural weight is going to somehow benefit him? If you knew anything about cutting weight, you would understand its not as simple as you seem to think. That man is a different breed. Instead of counting his calories and jogging on a high tech treadmill is New York City, he is flipping tractor tires and eating cabbage rolls in the Siberian Winter. It works for him. Yes he would probably benefit from mixing up his training partners a bit more, and eating a little better. But both of these are closely related to his mental game. Imagine not having to cut weight for a fight, just training exactly how you want to, and eating whenever and whatever you want. That's Fedor. As for why he lost. He is getting older. Opponents are getting better. It's been a long day for this dog, maybe it's just time to pass the torch. Sure he is only 34, but he's had 6 more pro fights than the legendary Randy Couture. He has been fighting the top level guys for over a decade now. That said, I hope he fights again. |
