It is not a hit and run so don't claim that you might get denied the claim on the basis of fraud.
He hit you, you left. Not he hit you and then he left.
You should have been a bigdog and stepped out of your car and exchanged info then filed a claim with said info. You didn't so take what info you do have a file the claim state to ICBC that you didn't make a scene out of it at the time because as a littledog you felt threatened.
ICBC will asses the damage and file you a claim there will be a deductible unless you can prove the other guy was at fault and ICBC will contact him requesting he pay for the damages or risk his premiums going up.

Now all this is in a grand world of milk and honey. ICBC may just say get lost its a bloody door ding next time don't be so chicken shit.
Or call up paint less dent removal guys they aren't too expensive.

It is not a hit and run since you did not request his insurance information. If there is damage, you should ask him for his info. If he does not provide it, it becomes a hit and run and you can take pictures and record his license plate. Make the claim with ICBC. They will pursue the other party to recover the money. You won't have to pay your deductible.

That's normal for some people. Some people don't care about their nice cars.

should've man-ed up and got his insurance/driver's license. that's what i did when i saw a guy ding my car with his door while i was walking to my car. he looked around and tried to walk away, but i ran up to him and confronted the guy. the guy tried to weasel out too, but the dent matched exactly where the door would hit. filed a claim and icbc waived the deductible soon after. got my car fixed.

at least you got his plates. file a claim with what you've got.

She just stared at me with her slack jaw almost dragging on the ground. I left right away too, didnt even give her a chance to say anything. I think she could see the smug smirk on my face and realized how happy I was with myself. And I mean she was right, the car was more than less a POS, but at the time it was my only ride and I didnt go around smashing it up. I kept it in the best condition I could. It was her attitude got her door dinged back.
