Cheapest body shop to fill in spoiler holes

hey guys, just went wingless on my DC a few months back.

I was looking for a shop to weld five holes on my hatch, anyone know the approximate price for this? This is the setup for my hatch

This is not my car, but it has two holes on one side of the hatch, and three on the other (2 for spoiler, 1 for brake light)

Anyways let me know! Also a shop around vancouver that can do this fast and cheap!

You might as well source out a cf trunk...

Honestly, I am not interested in anything other than replacing my spoiler holes and having the hatch paint matched

CF trunks is not the function I want. Maybe its for someone wanting to lose curbweight or someone who likes that look, but I would prefer factory look over trendy anyday, thanks for the input tho

Any ideas on a good reputable shop?

maybe it'll be cheaper to do the body work yourself and then bring it in to get it painted. You can do it cheap by using jb weld and then filler over that or use fiberglass filler to fill the holes and then regular filler.

i would recommend you go see Jeff at All Star Wheels on Bullar ave in Burnaby.. He does great body work!

Use color matched decals about 1 inch wide circles?
That way u can revert back if u ever decide to.

If cost is your concern then use this method not the JB weld fiberglass one. That will only lead to issues down the road like the body filler/JB weld cracking and falling out leaving you with holes again.

I've honestly seen people use higher quality vinyl that are decently colormatched, sure they're an eyesore if they're there, but no one really notices without driving that car everyday...

cheap + effective.

boibuddha 02-15-2011 07:17 PM

Maybe try sourcing out a trunk from a junk yard? Unless you have the special purple colour, it shouldn't be difficult to find a colour match. I can't see it being more than $150 with a DIY cut polish.

jb weld, smooth with bondo... then wrap with 3M Di-Noc CF wrap

Doesn't Jeff work at All Wheels Collision? Unless you're talking about a different shop but that's the only body shop I've seen on Buller

Can you explain why it would fail? Not trying to be a dick just curious.

Phil@rise 02-16-2011 10:18 AM

The hatch opens and closes, heat expands and contracts the metal both or either of these would cause the JB weld to crack around the edges and fall out eventually.
Albeit ghetto IMO you might get away with it in a fender but not a door, hatch, hood or roof.

Vinyl the whole car...

Looking to remove the spoiler on my 08 Accord Coupe V6. Previous owner installed the OEM spoiler on the car so now I'm rocking 2 spoilers (Deck lid and OEM). Looks kinda funky..
