Vancouver police, including forensic investigators, are walking in and out of a Coal Harbour condominium tower on Nicola Street Thursday.
Police will only say they are investigating a major incident.
No word yet on whether it is a homicide, but there are unconfirmed reports at least one body is on scene.
VPD Const. Jana McGuinness said she is gathering information and will speak to media soon.
Neighbours say it is a high-security building and each floor has its own access code.

Constable Jana McGuiness says the couple was in their late 70's or early 80's. The woman's body was found in their suite, and the man's in the parkade down below. "

Apparently they don't consider the deaths suspicious. Which strikes me as odd since both of them died in the same day.

| I used to work at some of these properties.. and the access codes really don't do much..
It's four numbers that can easily be passed around by anyone on that floor. Not to mention the janitors, building manager, concierge, security, other contractors like myself, etc.
I've seen it myself. They toss the numbers around like its nothing, residents holding the door open for outsiders.. and so on.
Most of these condos have cameras all over the place.. hopefully this one has them in the right places.

One wakes up and finds their spouse of 60+years dead and cant take it and goes downstairs, puts a hose to the exhaust pipe (or some other setup with same result) to kill themselves so they can "join" their loved one in the afterlife?

I've inspected the building and if it's 535 Nicola which I think it is, there are cameras at every corner and there's a concierge 24/7. You can't really go up to the floors unless you have a fob or was sent up by the concierge. Posted via RS Mobile | |
