DELL LAPTOP DRIVER ISSUE HELP!!!

Hey guys , been a while. Im away working in Fort Mac in camp. And my buddies dell laptop wont connect via the ethernet cable. Dont have wireless in this camp.

I get an error message via the windows network diagnostics

* the network adapter " marvell yukon 88e8040 PCI-E fast ethernet controller is experiencing driver or hardware related issues *

checked on my computer via the marvell site. shows a newer version of driver is available. but since we cannot connect to the internet on the other laptop. I downloaded the driver to my desktop, copied to my usb flash drive. but now having issues installing it on his computer.

open the folder and just shows the typical " read me / .dll / .sys * if i click in any of those. It doesnt really let me install

any help would be great guys. RS 4 life!!!!

Go to your Device Manager to update the driver.
1. Start > Run > Type devmgmt.msc and click OK
2. Expand Network adapters
3. Right-click on the Marvell Yukon > click Update Driver
4. Select the option to browse for the driver, and browse to the location of the updated driver.
