Need help with car!!

Hi guys, i have a 01 MPV and i have a problem with it and i was wondering if you guys can help me with it. im kind of new here.
basically i was driving and the transmission was, what i read of, slipping. where the revs dont seem steady and go up and down with the same consistent throttle input.
after about 5 minutes of this, my check engine light came up and was flashing.
car was also idling rough and shaky.
car had trouble accelerating and changing gears
it has 140km, automatic

thank you very much revscene for all your help!

Do you have an OBDII scanner? Did you pull the engine code? It could be a number of different problems but by scanning it, you will be able to narrow it down. You can bring it by to us and we can check it out for you.

thanks for your reply, i took the car to my neighbor down the street who's a mechanic, before you msged.
he took a look at the engine and said that there was some wiring that had come off? his first assumption was that there was something wrong with the pistons/spark plugs.
he replaced the wiring, and the car runs better than when it wasnt broken.
next week he will take a look at the pistons and probably change the spark plugs.
thank you very much for your response i will keep your shop in mind!
