The 920 is an OEM product and is effectively end of life. The 950s are more or less end of life now, too, being replaced by 960s. For a case, the Antec 300 isn't bad, but it isn't great, either. My personal favorite would be the Lancool K62. Remember that your case can be one of the things you keep through several builds. Something in the area of 850-1000W for a PSU would last you for several upgrades and would be fine for SLI or Crossfire for higher end cards. The AX850 or something similar world work nicely.

if you are not in a hurry, i suggest waiting for the new sandy bridge motherboards to come out and then build the comp. there is a grea performance increase for a lower price.

don't waste $ on SLi/CF
if you are planning to go watercooling in the future pick a CPU with tons of OC overhead.

Currently SandyBridge motherboards have a SATA problem on the 3.0gbps ports. The issue is that it MAY corrupt data over time. However I don't think any OEM has been able to reproduce the issue. New boards probably won't be out for at least another month or 2. I have one of the affected boards and ASUS is going to replace them for free. If you can't wait that long you can still build a system but using the SATA 6.0Gbps ports until the replacements are out.

SSD (Intel/Corsair) + terabytes of storage

should totally do this at memoryexpress right now for the 10% off, but check shopbot as well

I would suggest another Video card like GTX 570

if i buy 570 my wallet will only be used to carry my DL lol.

anyways, i went ahead and bought what i have written on there.

basically this is what i do right?

mount mobo, mount hdd, mount cd drive, mount fans, mount psu, put in cpu, stick on cooler, connect all the wiring, done?

Qmx323 03-01-2011 06:02 PM

after "mount mobo" it doesnt matter what order

and use zip ties to bunch together wiring to keep airflow maximized.

Sandybridge is a disappointment, they claim new chip won't come out until April. Some companies like ECS are now offering a PCI-E Raid card to new buyers.

Hmm well for that price range of video card I would pick
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=55...=MSI/MicroStar

I currently have the MSI GTX 460 Cyclone and is great!
