Canucks Tickets

How do I know if canucks tickets are real? I'm looking at these tickets
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...227777899.html

and I want to grab them, but the price seems sketchy, and so does the ad.

One of the top scams in the book. The safest way. Get him to sell u them at the door and physically walk in with them and keep an eye on him?

As you may know they could be legit, until he files a chargeback on the credit card he used to buy the tickets with.

Or, meet somewhere else. Make sure the numbers on the invoice match the CC he's holding and jot down his BC DL# and address. Not many people will let you do this so it's kinda 50/50.

find someone selling tickets to the game on the same night and ask them which player is on their ticket.

the ones in the ad looks like tickets out of a season ticket holder's booklet.
but $220 for row 1 in section 107 is HELLA CHEAP!

i think it's reasonable to ask someone for his licence so u can copy his name down. but it's going a bit too far when you're copying down his home address as well. if a seller is already willing to show you his licence, then this is a good sign!

if they are hard copy season tickets you can ask for proof of ownership for the season tickets.

meet up with the person, and ask him to provide you with his business card and match the name with his driver's license. most people won't f around with their office and job and create a bad rep for himself afterwards! if he doesnt have a business card, then... i dont know lol

What section? Row 1 for section 301 for $110 each? Or section 107?

One is the shittiest seat in the house while the other are club seats.

Yea, I bought about 10 pairs of Canucks tickets so far. I feel most comfortable when 1. Deal at his office 2. Check DL, take a pic with my phone 3. Show booklet 4. Show Canucks card 5. Copy down the guys plate #

Continue to check CL to see if your tickets are being sold. If yes - you are fucked.
I sometimes google their names too. Hahaha

This.

I dont know the price is so cheap that you have to be worried though... I paid $250 for a pair of tix for Saturday's game in section 106 which is the best section available, just gotta keep your eyes open.

There is no way to determine fake or real tickets just by looking at them. If I am a Season Ticket Holder all I have to do is sell someone a ticket, call my rep to say I lost it and get issued a new one. The old tickets will be void and whoever bought them is fucked over.

The only GUARANTEED method of buying tickets is directly on TicketMaster.ca or through the Canucks' Prime Seat Club. If you buy from anywhere else you are taking a risk.

Has anyone really gotten ripped off? I honestly haven't heard of a single instance in particular to Canucks tickets only.

Yeah, there's no real way to confirm whether the tickets are good or not... because even if they are 100% real season tickets, the season ticket holder CAN cancel the original tickets and get new ones issued...

So in order to protect yourself, you really have to rely on whether the seller is being sketchy or not.

If they give you a real phone number, that's a good sign.

If they give you their driver's license number, that's a very good sign.

If they're trying to scam you, they wouldn't want you to be able to track them down.

I bought some off craiglist recently. I had his # for the reputable company he worked at. I also made sure he showed me his Canucks card with matching name to his DL.

That is pretty scary if season ticket holders can get new copies printed.

There are many ways that you can get scammed:

1. cancelled ticket, sell on ticket exchange
2. reprints of the same ticket, sell them to multiple people

Greedy bastards will do that, just do your due diligence and depends on your risk aversion. The cost of savings are the risks involved. We are talking about ~50% in savings.
