shenmecar 02-22-2011 05:57 PM

wow nice.

oteckie 02-22-2011 06:02 PM

around 2400 after getting rape by tax. so much more convenient and i can say good by to this crudddy creeper lol. it's perfect for small garage and enough room for me to work on under there with a stool

shenmecar 02-22-2011 07:56 PM

you should start charging friends to come work on their cars in your garage! it'll pay off eventually!

Nice new toy!!! Congrats!

I guess the only downside is your height restriction. Other than that, full access under and around the car is great.

I opted for an electric over hydraulic, scissor lift. No wasted space on either side, I can park over it daily, low cost, and it's mobile. Only downside is I can't do RWD tranny removal and exhaust work can be tight but for 99% of the work I do it's does the job.

It don't waste space either, these are portable so i can put them aside when im not using them, heck it takes less room than my cherry picker. aren't scissor lift limited in height as well? i see some people need to run ramps/running boards to clear it

Nice, wish i had one in my garage!

I thought it was permanently mounted and fully electric. Looks like it uses the same electric over hydraulic system as mine. I've been meaning to get a quick coupler built for mine.

Height-wise, I can get my wheels at least 6' off the ground and, like you, am limited to the ceiling in my garage. No issues with stock height cars but yeah, if it has a lip under 5", one needs to drive up on 2x4's to clear the front.

oteckie 02-24-2011 10:58 AM

I could easily bought a full size but the only limiting factor is the damn small garages

blkgsr 02-24-2011 01:54 PM

what was the cost before tax?

that looks pretty sweet, but it would be even better with a remote control or a controller with like a 15' or 20' cord so you can be right at the mount points as you raise it up

oteckie 02-24-2011 02:53 PM

around 2k shipped. I plan to modify it abit like hard mount the pump on one of the post and place have some hydraulic pipe go across either top or bottom (dig). I could mount a remote button along with the line

younglude 02-24-2011 08:59 PM

nice, where did you pick it up from?

nvm, watched the video. seems like a pretty basic install

satek 02-25-2011 05:30 PM

I want!! ...Don't have the cash for one :(

genesis195 02-26-2011 05:29 PM

who did you get this installed by?

IMASA 02-27-2011 09:28 AM

If you check www.costco.ca, they sell this too. Use it for a few yrs and then return it :D

shenmecar 02-27-2011 11:16 AM

did you install this in your garage by yourself?

oteckie 02-27-2011 06:00 PM

Yep, i had to burrow a hammer drill from home depot. Im redoing it again next weekend to move them closer.

Also modified it and will have hoses running over head so i don't trip over them and mounted the pump on the shaft itself.

having a hoist at home is what my dreams are made of. well, the non sexual dreams. nice mr2 too, my boss just bought one. took the gas tank out of it yesterday to replace one of the heater pipes!

oteckie 03-07-2011 09:07 PM

I did some renovation on the weekend so the lift can now reach max height after moving the garage motor to the side. :w00t:

and to commemorate this i put it at max height with barely an inch to spare before the wind shield touches the garage door

Do you have to measure the depth of your concrete pad and the compressive strength of the concrete before installation?

popopopopp 03-17-2011 04:41 PM

how high does it go?

oteckie 03-18-2011 11:49 AM

high enough that it won't crash into the ceiling and lets me sit on a stool under it

Project__D 03-18-2011 09:42 PM

What do you have set up lighting wise in your garage?
