SIM Card Missing?

I restarted my phone and I get a notification saying "My SIM CARD IS MISSING".

The SIM card is popped in my phone, so WTF. So I take it out the SIM and battery and put it back it and restart the phone again. Still same thing notification showing up. Then I turned off my phone for 5mins and restarted it again and my phone was working again

Anyone encounter a missing SIM card notification on their phone. I'm using a Omnia II if that helps.

It happens sometimes.

Here's a tip:

Take an eraser and lightly rub it against the metal contacts on your SIM and on your phone (if possible.) Don't use too much force. Doing this helps cleans the contacts. It may or may not always work but it's cheap insurance for sure.

weird The same thing has happened to me recently but in my Bold 9000. I have to take the card out and put it back in a few times until it reads, no idea why though.

Guess this seems to be something that's normal that I shouldn't be freaked out about. Thanks for your input guys.

Are you on Bell?
If you are take a look at your sim card.
What are the bottom last two digits?
07? 09? 12? 20?
If you are on Bell with 07 or 09 you need to go into a Bell store to replace it.
Free of charge and will take only about 5 mins

Yeah I am with Bell. I recall about the DOA Sim issue with free Sim card replacement awhile back. But I've had my Sim for over 2years and haven't experienced any problems until last night.

Had this problem with my sim card too. Apparently some Bell sim cards ending in 007 are defective and you get a free replacement
