| Where do you guys park your "baby"
I have next to no room in my garage and I scratched my side mirror when trying to park. I'm also looking to buy a new car later in the year and now I'm concerned about where I'm going to park it. I have the option of parking outside or risk parking in the garage (no choice of throwing crap out)..
So I ask you where do you park your car? For those of you that have a "baby" and daily driver - I'm interested in where you park your baby
Garage - protected from elements
Outside - open to elements and vandals
Car port - partially protected
Other
I'm concerned about weather effecting the paint. I live in a complex so haven't had any incidents of vandalism..

if you park it outside get some security camera's setup.
so next time if you see the vandals or theifs (if something were to happen to your car) you can murder them in broad day light.
police will think it was a random murder and you will go unfound.
on a serious note, on a car port/driveway... garage is full of stuff.

my garage is full of crap, but i was fortunate enough to push all the shit aside to make room for my BMW for its winter hibernation.
The Volvo sleeps outside.

Other | 1 car in a carport and the other outside. If you are concerned about vandalisms, you should either buy a portable car port or get a professional to build a car port on your driveway.

Whenever it's really cold outside, I'm so glad my car's parked in the garage.

Buy one of those car tents. Mine survived today's wind and whatever weaksauce snow we've had. I bought it for 150 bucks at Costco. I bolted the posts down to concrete. Cold, it doesn't keep out, but rain and dust is kept out. Size is 10 x 20 ft. Has zippered front and a couple of windows that can be rolled up with bug screens behind them.

I used to park my car on the street. Not much choice at that point in time. But I recently moved to a new place and a garage was the deal breaker for me.

Try your grandparents house?
Mine have a two car garage that is pretty much empty.
So if i needed to store my car I could just leave it there.

Inside the garage, but with a nice coat of wax and paint sealant there's not much to worry about exposing it to the elements. That is, unless there's tree branches falling everywhere.

Garage for house/Gated private parking for condo. Not much point "babying" if you just leave it outside.

Keep in mind, Costco's online prices is always more expensive on their website as they include
the "shipping and handling" charge. And 89civic probably got it on sale or something.
Try Canadian Tires... Home Depot...etc a lot of places sell them.

I did buy it on sale. Half price. However, a week or maybe two ago, I saw them again for that price. Not even on sale. Regular price. I think it was the Costco on Brighton <sp?> south of Production Skytrain Station. If not Willingdon location, as those are the only two that I go to.

Most important for me is convenience.
I think I would choose a carport for two main reasons.
1.) It's convenient to drive in and out
2.) It's still covered so won't have to deal with brushing off snow and frost
I'm okay with street parking... just not in the winter.

carports suck when there's cats and the like around.........
Come to think of it, I haven't seen the neighbourhood cat in a long time. Perhaps it got run over or licked up too much of the antifreeze I accidentally left outside. j/k.

I was keeping my Bug at my parent's garage but they moved out of town so now its in my car port. Unfortunately its situated in the back alley and the high school kids like to hide out in the car port to smoke pot and smash the light bulbs providing light for the carport.
At my old place a few years ago my old roommate's 'baby' was squashed by the car port roof collapsing on it. The lane narrowed right where our car port juts out. This chinese kid who could barely speak english hit the corner of the car port roof with a moving truck he had no business driving.
VR6 was a write off obviously. The landlord ended up putting the same roof back up on toothpicks basically. It leaked like a sieve when it rained. None of us parked our cars under it for any length of time after that.

but yeah.. OP you should try your best to at least organize the shit in your garage and fit your car in their properly. there's no better protection than a garage for your baby (from the weather anyways).
