gas prices will hit $1.50 come summer

Quote:
Average gas prices in Metro Vancouver climbed above $1.30 per litre Friday amid growing concerns about the potential disruption of crude oil supplies as a result of the Middle East crisis.

The pump price is now about 10 cents higher than it was a month ago and at the highest level since mid-2008.

Crude oil prices have shot up to well over $100 a barrel in anticipation the threat of revolution or civil war may spread to more countries as protesters try to topple Arab dictators.

Energy consultant Michael Ervin said retail gas prices could well climb higher this spring, typically the peak driving season when higher demand tends to lift prices.

That would certainly happen if oil prices also rise further, but could happen even if they stabilize close to current levels.

The highest price Metro Vancouverites have ever paid for gas was $1.50 per litre in July of 2008. Crude oil peaked at US $147 per barrel that same month.

Up to a million barrels of daily oil production is shut down in Libya.

Libyan oil typically goes to Europe, but buyers there will look elsewhere, driving up demand and prices on other sources.

Oil traders are also pricing in the possibility the pro-democracy revolutions may spread and cripple production at other oil-producing countries.
nothing we can do, carbon tax will kick in july and up the price 2 cents

just for shits and giggles

3 years from now someone will link this thread and laugh on how we complain about 1.30 a litre while they pay 3.00 a litre

theres no reason why gas prices need to be so high though. in the middle east. it costs less per liter for gas then it does for water

Good lord. I really feel for you guys.

I've got a fuel injected 50cc scooter.
Not only do i fill it up with 87. It costs me about $6 a week to commute with it.

Doesn't get my the chicks. But it's cheaper than bussing.

My family owns a gas station and I use 87 in my truck when i have the choose to use what ever I want. my Civic hatch with a B16 swap uses 91. People only need to use what the manufacture recommends. No car manufactured in North America requires 94 oct unless it has been tuned to do so. Even Ferrari only recommends 91 for it Enzo.

lol it was a joke.

couple cars in my family use 87.

94 is good for stock jdm cars though, In Japan I'm pretty sure they use like octane 98 and 100.
