Windows IE Help - Freezes whenever entering username+password

Currently using IE on home desktop, I've searched around with no similar results to my problem on google.

Basically what happens is whenever I open a page that prompts for a username/password, when I click the username field to enter, that browser window freezes. Some examples are Hotmail, youtube and twitter. But some sites like facebook and my school e-mail account are exceptions.

Anybody have any similar problems?

I'll just save everyone else the time of posting.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

http://www.google.com/chrome

Alternatively, if you MUST keep on using IE, run Malware Bytes, AdAware, and SpyBot.

The problem, honestly, is too vague to give you a solid answer as to why it's doing it.
