Best Way To Achieve This Look!?

Hey guys
So I got my new car

That's it

BUT
I love the look of this car

And I want to make mine a little more individualized.

I was wondering what you guys thought I should do to achieve this look

and if you guys know any good shops in vancouver, or good websites or anything like that to get rims, tint etc.

I've never really done anything to a car so I'm new to this and any advice would be great!
BTW

I was thinking of maybe just using DTOX's m3 rims since he has 19's and he's getting new rims soon. Do you think those will fit on my bmw?

Does anyone have a 3 series with 19's on it?

I also found carbon fibre emblems for the wheels as well as hood and trunk on ebay for like $20!

New wheels will cost you a Chanel bag, is it worth it?
Tires will cost you a Burberry coat, is it worth it?
Lowering springs will cost you a pair of Ferragamo shoes, is it worth it?
Alignment will cost you a Hermes belt, is it worth it?
Tinting will cost you a LV iphone case, is it worth it?
Swapping your 323i headlights to 328i+ headlights will cost you several Alexander McQueen scarfs, is it worth it?

I'll tell you why you are being facepalmed;

You don't mod a car by going, "hey, I want my car to look like this, what can I do to make it look like this."

It just seems like you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Don't mod your car so that it can look like this or look like that. Don't even mod your car so that you can make it look "nicer."

Mod your car so that you can feel like it's your project and, really, that doesn't require anybody's advice. And there are no "ropes" to learn for modding cosmetically...

Yes, wheels on an M3 will fit on any 3 series. Use google for those dumb questions.

Also, you might want to head over to the local forums on e90post: http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=24

Well actually, I thought that m3 rims would fit on the 3 series but then I was told by two car enthusiasts that it wouldn't so I was wondering if anyone on here has done it. I was told they might fit but it would be a really close fit.

And I want to mod my car for me because I like the way it looks and I have pride in my car!

I've always wanted black rims but my last car was silver so that was a no go but now that I have a black car I have come to a car forum to ask the car pros what they would suggest I do.

I don't think there is anything wrong with seeing something you like, being inspired by it and wanting to make your car look similar to that.

Well I don't want to pay $5000 for rims. That is just ridiculous.

Surely I can find some nice rims for cheaper... right?

I'm not dtox, I don't need creme de la creme rims.

I'm a bit of a bargain hunter as well.

My only advice is... do your research about fitment/stance/suspension online. Order/buy everything from USA and pick it up yourself.

I used to buy my stuff from local dealers, most take FOREVER to ship and charge high premiums. Selection is better online anyways. I totally understand local businesses are small and cannot compete with online prices, but I am frugal so I buy across the border or buy used.

Warning: modding car is a money pit, just like buying expensive bags. It seems like you got bit by the guy bug AND girl bug. GG

$5000 would buy you an extremely high end set of wheels and tires, you can get a good quality set for much much less.

Whenever I want a specific part I just watch the classifieds section of forums for a good opportunity, it takes a bit of patience, but getting the item I want for half the new cost is well worth it. My suggestion would be to just search your bolt pattern in the wheel-suspension classifieds sub-forum every couple days until you see something your happy with, you could do the same on craigslist but your less likely to see high quality stuff there. Once you find a set your happy with then call one of the sponsors and I'm sure they'd be happy to hook you up with some advice on whether the off-set will work.

I really don't get why everyone hates on RangeRover for her taste in high end fashion, last time I looked in the recent fashion purchases thread it was filled with guys who have similar taste.

I think people hate on me because I'm a girl and I'm not as car educated as them.

But it's not my fault and I am trying to learn.

Thanks a lot for your advice. I've never done any of this stuff so I really have no idea what route to take to get the best product/best price etc.

I'll definitely do some research and check out the BMW forum then browse classifieds to see what's out there

Actually knowing exactly how you want your car to end up looking like is a start to a good project.

Too many projects start without a goal and everything just go haywire after a while when the mod A doesn't go with the intended goal A2 that came out of middle of the progress, which moves further from the goal B that was originally intended.

That's what I thought!

I thought if you picked a general idea of what you wanted, it would be a lot easier to figure out what looks good, what goes together and what you want.

If I just start randomly throwing stuff at my car without an idea of what I want the outcome to be, it could end up not being so great!
