March 2011 - Japan

The Red Cross is responding to a powerful 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan. The earthquake, the largest in Japan’s history, triggered four-meter waves in Japan and tsunami warning across the Pacific coast.
There are reports of major damage and injuries in Japan and the Red Cross is concerned for countries with vulnerable coastal areas who may not have adequate prevention or response mechanism in place.
The situation continues to unfolds and the most urgent needs now are search and rescue support, emergency medical care, clean water, emergency shelter, and rebuilding homes of millions.


Anything and Everything COUNTS… Donation Guidelines:

$10 - will send a bucket and jerry can for a family to collect and store clean drinking water, helping to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases
$25 - will send 5 blankets to a family in need of warmth
$60 - will send hygiene items to 2 families who were forced to flee their homes with nothing
$364 - will provide a tent for a family left homeless after disaster strikes
