First off.. i don't have my N (i get it in 2 weeks) and i'm not really that "smart" with cars soo.. bare with me if i ask really dumb questions 2. Would the celica be a good first car? I'm planning to keep this car throughout my university/college years, so i want to make sure this car is very reliable. I am also planning to throw as much money as i can at this car to make it look nice/safe/loud 3. Is the celica good on gas? 4. Is the celica considered a sports car or coupe or hatchback?? 5. Should i just buy a new car?? 6. How much are you paying for insurance a month / year? How much would insurance be for a new driver like me for this car? 7. What are some other cars i should consider buying, my second option is a 2005 scion tc. yes the celica is a safe car to drive, only bad thing is that its a 2dr and the back seats and super squishy. celica is pretty good on gas. full tank cost me about 55ish dollars on 91 octane and lasts about mid 400 kms insurence would mnost likely cost 320 a month since your a new driver |
Get a slow car if you are learning to drive, perhaps. Would help you not get involved into accidents and stuff, at least until you get more experience. Just my 2 cents. |
hey wanna buy my car? it's an 02 civic SIR (EP3) with 174 clicks. i've done all sorts of maintenance on it so you can just drive it and go (new plugs, belt, oil, tranny fluid flushed, coolant flushed, air filter, battery, brakes). its faster than a celica and handles better due to the authentic TEIN coilovers that i have on it. not to mention the celica is ugly as sin and the ep3 is as cute as a button! it can also be customized anyway you want it (k20/k24 hybrid engine, anyone??). I've also gotten new ball joints and bushings so it drives so nicely :D:D:D. it can be riced out in anyway you want or you can go for the subtle sleeper look, and, AND , i will even teach you how to drive standard if you don't know how, on it. 7400 and its yours. |
insure as "pleasure" also loud - cops you like cops? i hope so they love loud |

nice engrish.. and if you insure as pleasure only and then drive to/from work or school your insurance WILL be void and you will be paying out of pocket for ALL damages. |
http://www.autos.ca/used-car-reviews...lica-2000-2005 detailed review on used celica "While Consumer Reports lists a used Celica as a good bet, it has not proven completely trouble free. One common issue is with the VVTLi (variable valve timing and lift) system in high-performance GT-S models; the bolts that are used to actuate the higher lift rocker arms at high rpms can break. " |
Save for a 7 series |
buy a tacoma if you are looking for something that will last. Mines going on 5 years and its cost about $2000 in repairs in that time. All general maintenance, nothing crazy. 320k and still on the original clutch. |
Lol, everyone has to go thru that period where they think rice is cool. OP will learn soon enough. At least he's going for toyota and not a 20 yr old BMW for the badge. Posted via RS Mobile |
don't buy a celica....buy an integra! u can buy mine! I'll give u a Highschool discount! 13K for a 97 btw...i'll even throw it back to stock for you so it's reliable.... :woot2: deal? |

who you tryin to impress by driving a black celica with loud sound? No girls gonna go on a second date with you. You know why? You spent all your money making the car look "good". |
