As uncomfortable I imagine that would be, it does not directly affect YOUR personal health like second hand smoke would.

Ugh, the pictures of some of the food in those challenges makes me want to puke just looking at it.

or wasting water when i run the tap to get cold/hot water

or i'm burning up fuel by letting my truck warm up that could have been used to heat someone without fuels home

if you go to your average restaurant after hours and check out the dumpster theres probably enough perfectly edible thrown away food to feed 30 people in there

Go donate $10 to Africa through world vision or something, it will have the exact same effect as not cooking one of these burgers, -none-

besides perhaps a moral obligation, to compare running some burger joint and the size of the portions they serve as being a "bad" thing because somewhere in the world others are starving is ridiculous
first off thanks for the response, i was curious to hear your logic; which is why i didn't just fail you and ignore your comment.

i would like to point out that i'm not forcing you to think anything or guilt trip you and there are a lot of people that agree with my statement. my point is, the world isn't fair at all and it's something that i take a mental note of.

as for your statement about water, i do in fact dislike how we waste water in our country. we are spoiled compared to the rest of the world. in regards to your exact example, i'm curious if you are aware of how other countries work. for example, in asian countries, water heaters are used to reduce the amount of water wasted and also the amount of energy that would be spent to keep it warm 24/7. clearing out cold water that is already present in piping is of course, unavoidable but heating it 24/7 is not a necessity; it's a convenience.

i took environmental sciences and it was quite the eye opener. a lot of people like to argue that 2/3 of the world is water so it's not a huge deal. what most people do NOT know is that of that 2/3, only 3% is readily drinkable water. that was the percentage when i was in high school, it has since decreased to 2%. so for example, if you started with 100L of water, only 2L of that is drinkable w/o treatment. drinkable tap water is something most countries would kill for. so when i see things like people watering their lawns for an entire day, faucets leaking, and perfectly clean drinking water just going straight into our sewers, YES i am bothered by it.

being in a 1st world country is a privilege that most people take for granted. gone are the days where people take only what they need and think of others' plight. but it is nice to know that some people still think about these things from another person's perspective. food is a necessity but these contests and challenges are just an excessive waste of food that serve no meaningful purpose at all.

losing alot of weight is alot of work if you're already fat...most people just give up. hence being condemned to a life of obesity
... condemned means you have no choice. Fat people are not condemned to being fat, they are fat because they are weakminded and stupid, which is something they can change.

Water is a renewable resource. It's not like it disappears. Mother nature puts it back. In a place like BC, there is plenty of fresh water. That water goes down the river and into the ocean. We just intercept it. Now, if we polluted the water, that's a different story. If I let the water conitinue to flow out of the tap while I brush my teeth, that water just goes back into the system - real fast. If I bottle the water by the billions of litres and keep it for hundreds of years, then we might have a problem.

If we lived in a place where water was scarce, then it would be a different story.

Also, if we all let water from the tap flow all day long that will affect the reservoir levels, but that reservoir is something we created in the first place........... anyway, I gotta stop logging into RS and posting random shit. I don't have exams or studying to do like a lot of RS members, but crap, I could be doing something more productive.

MAYBE IF YOU WALKED YOU WOULDN'T BE FAT AND NEED THE SCOOTER????!!

Fat people on Disability should be moderated by the government like people on welfare. People on welfare MUST actively search for jobs and prove their job search. Fat people on Disability should have to go on a diet and show regular steady weight loss. Government could even pay for Gym membership's for them. Eventually they won't be fat anymore and won't need government funding. Am I crazy for thinking this?

Berz out.
hey berz,

they do give poor, welfare and disability users FREE municipal memberships.
at least in surrey you get it for FREE if your income is below a certain amount. i think its something like 25k, for a single person.
