Smokers all over get harassed for their unhealthy habits and the impact it has on society but fat people for the most part are treated with sympathy.

If you wanna be fat that's one thing. That's your choice for the most part and far be it from me to say you shouldn't be fat. What I take offense to is fat people that use it as a "disability" and get funding from the government and ride around on those little fucking fat people scooters because they can't walk anywhere. MAYBE IF YOU WALKED YOU WOULDN'T BE FAT AND NEED THE SCOOTER????!!

Fat people on Disability should be moderated by the government like people on welfare. People on welfare MUST actively search for jobs and prove their job search. Fat people on Disability should have to go on a diet and show regular steady weight loss. Government could even pay for Gym membership's for them. Eventually they won't be fat anymore and won't need government funding. Am I crazy for thinking this?

being fat is one thing while being over weight is another, my dads fat with beer gut & doctor told him that he can't do any major exercise too much cuz of this heart condition (like running for too long & stuff like that) but he still takes longs walks just for exercise

while most over weight ppl choose not to lost weight for some reason thinking its ok then take the governments money like its nothing at all just like those drug addicts & the stupid rehab thats gives out so call "safe drugs"

also ppl that eat when their unhappy, which leads to being fat then being coming over weight

that thing alone could possibly last other parts of the world a good couple of days for the entire population if they control themselves to a certain amount. it's just disgusting how people do this to try and prove that they have a crazy stomach.

to be fair the reason they treat smokers like shit is because smokers regularly litter and their smoke gets inhaled by others.
fat people dont usually affect others with their eating habits except maybe their children, which they do get blamed for.

Yes, it affects me some, but rarely do the consequences of somebody being overweight physically reach me and intrude upon my personal space. In terms of the financial side of things, yes, I know they are literally weighing down our healthcare system (get the pun? :p), however, to some degree I do support a universal health care system, so it bothers me less.

Now take what I said previously and match it up with the smokers.

Their choice of being a smoker doesn't bother me so much. I think they get taxed mostly enough for it, and it's still their choice to smoke. However when and where they choose to smoke intrudes on my space all the time. Bus stops, in front of restaurants, downtown on an after dinner walk. All the freaking time. I've worked in a smoking restaurant so I'm already pretty tolerant of it, but there is still the tiniest gag reflex there and it's still just plain unpleasant. Smokers are actively choosing to be inconsiderate, and not just slightly so, but to everybody around them. If they were always nice and kept each other in check, smoked further away from entrances, and down wind at a bus stop, I don't think they would deserve to be ragged on.
But you know what? They don't.


I spent just 30 minutes downtown during my lunch hour one day to help clean up and pick up garbage. I was walking around just north of the financial district (burrard and dunsmuir). You wouldn't believe how many cigarette butts there are lying around. It's absolutely disgusting. I thought Vancouverite mentality was pretty green, everybody I know recycles and few people litter. But clearly smokers are the ones that couldn't give a crap less. Those filters take forever to break down, the least they could do would be to make sure they make it to the landfill.

What pisses me off the most is car smokers that just flick their butts out the window at a red light. I'm in a scooter, I've got half a mind to get off, pick up the butt and toss it back in their car.
Too bad I'm a tiny guy. I'm just waiting for the day a c-lai does it, then I can be as smug, snide and bitchy as I want.

obesity is just a sin or addiction like anything else, saying they are condemned to a life of it , is like saying a child rapist is just condemned to rape children for life, can't do shit about it

by all means, please elaborate the logic behind your statement.

if you want to say making 10lb burgers is an atrocity to people who have no food to begin with, then I guess I should feel bad about wasting paper when i print something out wrong and toss it, that could have been used to write books for poor children

or wasting water when i run the tap to get cold/hot water

or i'm burning up fuel by letting my truck warm up that could have been used to heat someone without fuels home

if you go to your average restaurant after hours and check out the dumpster theres probably enough perfectly edible thrown away food to feed 30 people in there

Go donate $10 to Africa through world vision or something, it will have the exact same effect as not cooking one of these burgers, -none-

besides perhaps a moral obligation, to compare running some burger joint and the size of the portions they serve as being a "bad" thing because somewhere in the world others are starving is ridiculous

The middle of it is probably raw. Kinda dangerous I think.
