Lol On Rupert turning west on to kingsway is by far the worse than any other way on that section!

shenmecar 03-23-2011 04:59 PM

I say they need to do a better job on Marine Dr where that sinkhole was.

CP.AR 03-23-2011 05:05 PM

i say they take the 9mil, take it to the garden city lands, and build a racetrack...
although that MITE not be enough

ImpactZ 03-23-2011 05:34 PM

icbc should take that nine million, turn it sideways and stick it straight up all their execs candy ass

Death2Theft 03-23-2011 06:04 PM

It's a roller coaster everytime I go over Rupert or turning on to it.

The bumpiness of the road forces you to slow down, hence calming the traffic... :troll:

That's why you give your suspension a good exercise by going straight through at speed limit:fullofwin:

Try going Eastbound on Kingsway, passing Rupert, on either the left of middle lane going 20 to 30km/h, then tell me how does your stomach feel after :troll:

it may seem like "nothing" and I understand its not much in the big picture, but that 9 million will be greatly appriciated by the workers who build such projects. As much as I dont like what ICBC is doing, Ill gladly accept their money and build the roads

JordanLee 03-23-2011 07:36 PM

"Mite" mite be the new wander :)

GabAlmighty 03-23-2011 08:40 PM

9 Million... So like... 40km of roads? Who's in construction haha.

Raid3n 03-23-2011 09:32 PM

fuck, the intersection at sussex & kingsway exiting metro's underground is brutal too.

4444 03-23-2011 09:40 PM

that money & a couple hundred million following should go to MUCH improved driver education

the standard of the driving test here is a joke

FerrariEnzo 03-24-2011 12:04 AM

At this given moment, Eastbound Kingsway going past Nanaimo is the worst.

Especially in the far left lane.

There's a huge dip that Vancouver keeps fucking up.

Every time they patch it up, they do a sloppy job on it

Shit breaks like every couple of days.

godwin 03-24-2011 12:06 PM

Their improvements include speed measures (eg speed bumps) which cut down on the amount of damage in a collision since the speed is lower. Intersection improvements which cut down on accidents etc.

I don't think it has anything to do with jurisdiction. They are a corporation, they don't have jurisdiction in anything. It is within their mandate to reduce try to reduce accidents, hence in theory reduce payouts.. and hopefully reduce fees.

Honestly people who complain about high fees should try moving out of BC and go to any equivalently urbanized area.. eg Sydney, Seattle etc. For the same level of coverage, you will pay significantly more.

Within City Limits = municipal.

Fappin 03-24-2011 05:40 PM

ummmm 40km of highway is worth roughly $658 million.

Unless your talking about repairs only and not new highway, then maybe that 9 million would go further
