If money was no object and you were tasked with building.. the most powerful and stable N/A motor and a forced inducted motor, which motor would you go with, and what components would you use? This is just a random question that I would like to hear peoples' opinions on (people with more knowledge than me). Let's say money is no object and these are going to be your dream motors- doesn't have to mean the car will still be streetable. To stop people from just going with a BMW v12 or something, the displacement limit will be set at 4 liters. |
2JZ and lots of boost! |
Stupid to limit it to 4.0L displacement. You just excluded any Amercian V8, many of which can produce outstanding numbers. Posted via RS Mobile |
I *was* going to say the LS-series engines for both, but that damn displacement limit... Honda RA109E 72° V10 (675hp at 13000 rpm), for N/A. BMW M13 for turbo, with about 900hp. No one said you couldn't use F1 engines... :fullofwin: |
rb26dett with gt2530 turbos, rom tuned ecu, hks headers, r1 titan exhaust |

6.2L ls9, twin garret turbochargers, fuel injected v8. pushing up to 1200hp. |

btw, you guys have only mentioned the force inducted ones, how about the N/As? |
i'll play boosted rb26dett 2.8L stroker. call up tomei and tell them you want everything on their rb26 genesis catalog. over 600hp. 35k should do it. http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-ca..._g_p-2_big.jpg not boosted m60b40 race engine from vac motorsport. 4.0L v8 with itbs. rated well over 600hp in race form N/A. can be boosted for more power. no price listed but i bet its at least 30k http://www.nexternal.com/vacmotors/i...ain%20VAC2.jpg |
if i had unlimited resources id just build a motor from scratch. :) |

Anyways hands down a 911 motor ie. GT3RS for an N/A 3.8L 450hp, track proven Even the basic 3.8 in the 997.2 carrera S is an awesome motor that has just under 400hp. Decent on gas and daily drivable, good starting point for a build I guess |
for the street, youre not gona get anything better than a BMW p60b40 engine used in the m3gtr street version, 4.0L, 493hp |
Oh more RB love than I thought! If I wanted to build a motor, yes, RB, but I'd go to Mine's. Gotta love response and pickup instead of outright power. Buy a motor... BMW P83? 19,000RPM 900+hp. |
http://image.turbomagazine.com/f/854...ve_springs.jpg Beyond 4.0L... Norwood's 4000hp 5.0L 4cyl drag engine that runs on nitromethane :D |

Such a ridiculous engine though, gotta love drags. |
NSX 3.8L stroker, supercharged :)...fully built |
hmm.. gonna be an idiot and build the world's first six rotor n/a motor. fuse two 20B's together with a custom crank... |
custom v8 block with 2 K20 heads..... 4.0L 500hp+ N/A easily with bolt ons.... |

Kaase P-51 502 cubic inch V8. 800 HP, 740 lb/ft. Fully assembled and dyno tested for $14,900 US. Oh, and it's NA to boot. Kaase P-51 I'd love to see any Skyline or Supra get 800HP for only $15K and be anywhere near as reliable. And this is only one engine I picked. If you google for Chevy, Ford or Mopar racing engines there are literally dozens of companies and hundreds of different engine combinations to choose from. |
Twin charger 7mgte. |

i vant that vac m60 motor in my 5er so fricken bad. that would be my option too. |
