2000 civic sir vs. 2003 rsx premium ..need your vote

Lookin to buy one of these cars soon. I need something better on gas. I'm in the market for a 6000-10000 price range

Ive narrowed my choices down to and rsx or sir ek?

Which one would you get and why?

I think RSX's insurance is higher but Ek save more gas

Personally, I like EK better.

deep87 03-27-2011 10:20 PM

SIR - will be way more fun to drive, imo that's all that matters

twitchyzero 03-27-2011 10:22 PM

isn't '00 SiR = EM1?

i think it's overall a nicer car than RSX unless you wanted a more upsscale/less dated interior w/ leather heated seats

theft is a bitch though for the EM1...hardly a problem with a DC5

Anjew 03-27-2011 10:24 PM

I'd get the RSX. The interior is better. the car is less likely to be stolen. look is not as dated.

i think i'd be much happier with the RSX, bigger engine, with more torque, newer car and better looking imo.
manual and auto plays a huge factor as well for me, i would not get a rsx premium auto, but that's a personal thing

TypeRNammer 03-27-2011 11:13 PM

EP3 :troll:

Cman333 03-27-2011 11:22 PM

2000 SiR is EK

I would go RSX.

I have a 2000 SiR. Too many people tried to steal it. It's stop top stolen car in BC and it's like 11 years old and pretty few on the road.

My 2004 BMW 330i costed me less to insure than the civic.

Both cars are great reliable cars, I prefer the newer look of RSX and the interior is wayyyy nicer. The EK interior is this ugly grey interior

rsx!

toddzilla 03-28-2011 12:06 AM

RSX hands down. Much nicer interior - styling that is aging far better imo - and when I shopped around and compared the 2 (as well as a Prelude) the RSX just had a more 'fits like a glove' feel. Of vourse I have an RSX-S and didn't shop the base model, but there's not a ton of difference other than 40 hp and some assorted tweaks, so long as you get the premium.

a bicycle since he couldn't downshift properly in his rsx

back on topic... i'd say em1 with a bit of a beefed up security system

and $300 deductible on comprehensive for the EM1

Sure it's gonna spike your annual insurance off the roof, but in the end it's worth it.

Unfortunately the EP3 falls into the same category as the RSX when it comes to insurance.
