I was off Friday so couldn't get anyone at work. :(

Last year I made an apprentice nearly shit himself. I took a model rocket motor and mounted it under the engine. Hooked the rocket igniter to the starter solenoid so he wouldn't see it.

I had previously removed the battery as it was no good and needed replacing. I asked the apprentice if he could put in the new battery for me as I was busy on another car. He was happy to finish up such an easy job. Well, you can imagine the noise & smoke from the rocket when he connected the battery. Of course, I ran over with another mechanic and we started asking him stupid questions like "What the hell did you do?" or "Did you forget to pull the hydrosolator fuse before you put in the battery?"

He looked so terrified we actually almost felt bad for him. Almost. :)

We used to do something similar when I was doing car audio: when a guy is installing an alarm, you hook up a large(r) 6.3V electrolytic capacitor *backward* across the siren leads under the hood... first time he tries to arm it: *chirp chirp* !!BANG!! with a little cloud of smelly black smoke.

Did this over a decade ago....

Take a blow up doll, cut it open in the back. Fill it up with spoiled meat, organs, guts, etc... tape it back up with packing tape. Find a mangled bicycle... Leave it under some jacked up pick up truck, tie it to the bumper or whatever (You want them to see it in the rear view when they drive off) and wait in the bushes.
