I'd like to argue that the deaths of some of the figures posted above would not have prevented the atrocities they have committed but simply been replaced by another notorious person (likely with some sort of psychological problems). I believe that if Hitler had never existed, someone else with a traumatizing childhood or with other psychological disorders (like many Germans after the loss in WW1) would have just as easily taken his role. The murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand by the "faggot" (Gavrilo Princip) was an excuse by Austria-Hungary for them to declare war on Serbia and that Princip did not singly handedly instigate the First World War. It has to do with the unreasonable ultimatum Austria-Hungary presented to Serbia.

I personally do not think that non-existence of a particular historical figure would have altered history as somebody would have easily replaced him or her. That being said I know there are some exceptions such as Stalin (as he had connections with Lenin, etc. and had an opportunistic chance after Lenin's death to control the U.S.S.R) but based on my limited knowledge of important figures in the world I would want to see what the world would have become if Stalin or Kim-Jon Il had been murdered.

That's all I have , but it's mostly idiots who created war for no reason . Karl Marx is one but not a main one . Stalin is also another one . They caused a lot of problem and turmoil for a lot of people because of starting stupid fights and wars .

Interesting that nobody picked the man who has killed the most people in recorded human history...

When you kill off a historical figure, it doesn't necessarily mean that the outcome will be different.

Mao I know of but who is Cain? The only one I know of is the biblical Cain and I'm not too familiar with the bible so I don't know how he was responsible for the deaths of 25% of humanity. Is this who you're talking about or someone else?

It's a joke. Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel. At that point, biblical humanity consisted of 4 people. So, when Cain killed Abel;, he wiped out a quarter of the human population. :D
