happy birthday vancouver

I think the property tax, hst, ugly girls and shitty drivers I have to put up with is a good enough present to you

Global or the other local tv station is doing some historical accounts of Vancvouver. Mike McCardel <sp?> did one about False Creek. How it went all the way up to the Nanaimo/Renfrew area and beyond. China Creek, which used to be part of False Creek ran between False Creek and Burrard Inlet. Holy shit, they did a lot of filling in!

They had some topographical map of old Vancouver - very interesting stuff.

I always get a kick out of the term "South Granville". It's not as south as one would think. Marpole is at the foot of Granville Street. South Granville is around 12th Avenue. I guess it was when Vancouver was a small town.

A tent for city hall - awesome. Mayor what'shisnuts of today should have his office in a tent, and the VPD should be riding around in old school bikes brandishing billy clubs, LOLOLOLOL.

HBD raincouver
although today it looks like the weather is trying to consider being sunny

Gumby 04-06-2011 10:23 AM

Yeah, the term "South Granville" confused the heck out of me too (especially since I live in the Marpole area).

The great thing about the rain is it's the reason why we have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Trees, plants, fresh water, etc.

Now if we could just shoot all them damn crows, god damn it!
