This isn't some sick guy who likes to steal little boys underwear or something and could potentially be rehabbed out of that habit....this guy KILLED 3 OF HIS OWN KIDS! You can't fix that level of fucked up! Look at the comments section of any online article on this story and you'll see that 95% of sane Canadians agree with me. |

Here is my question. How would you like it if they release this person in a few years, and you find out he is living next door to your family? |

once he's released (IF he EVER is; what's so hard to understand here? i swear most people are retarded) he won't be a deranged maniac.. what's so hard to fucking understand ??? Even when they closed down some psycho wards all those years ago and released those in need to the DTES they didn't release the deranged psycho murderers.... and of course its important to look at it from a perspective of a family member because that's the only time people will actually think things through with a sound mind instead of just going off like an equally bat shit person, blubbering at the mouth about pitchforks and nooses as people don't tend to give a damn about anything unless its personal that form of thought isn't about being sympathetic to his family members its about not being an asshole and thinking things through rationally, logically what it comes down to is Do you believe someone crazy can be rehabilitated or controlled with pills? (science says yes) if you don't, well i don't know who's crazier ;) |

I wonder how hard it would be to convince someone you're crazy? I mean, if I had to prove that I was crazy to get off 25 years in prison, I think I could do it. Posted via RS Mobile |

Schoenborn withdrew his request for escorted leaves; I guess he's more sane than the public who are in an uproar Quote:

yeah he's really sane eh |

For all we know he is sane to the point where he is making this decision to benefit himself. What benefit does he have by being shackled and escorted through the community an hour a day? IMO, this is a move to capture some good attention to himself. To show a caring, understanding side, which might eventually help him down the road towards a different type of release. Not saying that is the case, but sane or not, he belongs locked up for life. Posted via RS Mobile |
Lock him up..... actually no that will waste tax payers money, send him to the front lines and be a human shield, is more useful. |
wtf in the u.s the prisons are way more overcrowded than here and they still wouldnt let this guy see light until 10 years at least! what does 1 year of good behaviour prove?.... Posted via RS Mobile |
^ that we have a really fucked up legal system Posted via RS Mobile |

obviously each state is different but its basically the same with canada you're not criminally responsible, because you're crazy, so you get institutionalized, go out on day trips etc as part of the process to get re-integrated to society (however long that takes depends on the patient/govt/doctors ) most people in Canada seem to have a great misunderstanding of US laws; they just naturally assume its far worse (and not equal or lighter) to Canada with this instance those in an uproar seem to think a) he's free to go b) his institutionalizing is a punishment both of which are untrue |

What I think we should do is instead of installing a roof on BC place, we make a stadium out of it, ancient rome style. We could have the most violent felons fight to the death and perform in feats of strength. The loser dies, the winner lives until another time. Revenue created would be huge, and it'd really put vancouver on the map (where else do you know of that still has roman-esque gladiator battles?). Ontop of that, we'd have about 50% less criminals after its all said and done. But with the increase in real estate prices, this may cause a sudden influx in the amount of gravesites needed, which could drive the already high prices already higher ... unless we didn't feed the felons and all they had for sustenance was the decaying meat of their fellow prisoners. Think of the low overhead costs! and all that would be left is bones ... think what those bones could fetch on ebay! Imagine what the smaller hand bones of some great modern day gladiator would cost, or a tooth, especially on ebay. I can't even begin to imagine how much a whole femur or skeleton would go for. That's how to increase revenues in vancouver and decrease prison costs, while amping up our pussy judicial system. Ontop of that it'll give us something to watch regularly, and hey, at least it's a sport where SOMEONE representing BC will be winning on a regular basis haha ... unless you know, the two felons stab themselves and both die, that'd really suck for everyone except for bookies who I assume would just get to keep all the cash because technically no one won. |
