Issues with Internet Explorer 9

So I recently had my laptop taken in to the shop to get some stuff done. When I picked it up today, I noticed they updated some stuff, and installed things I didn't ask for.

I'm running Windows 7 and had IE 8 running, and working great, doing everything I wanted ever since I bought the laptop, but they updated it to IE9, and installed OpenOffice 3.3... I don't want either of these. So I deleted OpenOffice, and now I'm making an attempt at making IE9 look like IE8. Does anyone know of a decent way of either getting IE8 back, or making IE9 look the same as IE8 did?
I tried downloading IE8, but it wouldn't let me install it because apparently there isn't a Windows 7 version on the Microsoft website.

Note: No, I'm not going to switch to Firefox, I'm stubborn and don't want it either.

Well you're stupid for being pointlessly stubbron because firefox is leaps and bounds better than ie9. Internet explorer is gonna end up in the same boat Netscape did..
