what difference does it make? They don't want to make it official because they think they can do a better run but encountered the rain.

Not so fast there Timpo. ZR1 did it in 7:22.4 back in 2008. Team USA still dominates the Ring. ACR Viper and ZR1 http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/10/28...eats-own-time/

I thought the 7:22 time for the ZR1 actually wasn't true. From what I remember, the date the time was said to have happened Chevy wasn't even at the Nurburgring and Magnussen was also somewhere else. Never heard the outcome of whether it was true or not.

even if it beats Team USA, the vette and the viper will still be funner cars by sheer virtue of them being stick shift.

(and hard as hell to control).

ZR1 = 6 speed manual transmission w/out flappy panel gear box, RWD, more power
GTR= Flappy panel gear box and a computer that does everything for you.

lol they are just showing that the car is very capable. They don't state that the car is fun to drive nor do they care about the complaints of how boring it is by the people who can't afford it anyway. Being an s2k driver I definitely prefer lighter, nimble, more fun to drive RWD cars but the truth is this car can really stomp other cars in or above its price range like a gozilla.

That's fun. But I like to have adrenaline rushes when I push my car. I want the car to "feel" like it's going 260+ km/h.

if you're only looking for fun factor, sometimes Miatas are just enough...

but I guess the capability is very important...boring or not.

I'm sure people would say "I don't care GT-R is faster than my F430, it's a Ferrari!!!" or "It doesn't matter GT-R is faster, Corvette is still stick shift"

well the fact is, it does matter which one is faster...

people who buy sportscars are often motorsports enthusiasts...they do care if their cars are slower than GT-R...or gets beaten by the GT-R

to be honest, miata really does suffice everything for someone looking for a fun car. It's just a human nature to seek higher and better car since we are never satisfied.

Gab, I'm pretty sure you'll get enough adrenaline rushes pushing GTR to its limit on Nurburgring.

There are no offical governing bodies for recording street-legal vehicle around the 'Ring, so there are no "offical" lap time records.
