Any wire + wireless dual mode mouse out there?

I am sick of my logitech vx revolution, tried many things to fix the drag and drop issue on Win7, but won't work (when I drag an icon or highlight a bunch of files, it will sometimes disconnect or something, I have to re-click again)

Tried disable auto-power-off usb port, new batteries, installed newer driver.
It hits my nerve everytime it does that.

The new gigabyte AiVia M8600 gets my attention, but too expensive as I don't play PC games that much now. Any other suggestion?

Only one I know is the Logitech G700 - but it's a gaming mouse, and it's pricey. But it's got the same awesome scroll wheel that Logitech is putting in a lot of their mice now.

Maybe the mouse is defective? RMA it? Logitech has awesome warranty policies.
