CD stopped working on G35

Hey guys

I have 2004 G35 and I was listening to a CD the other day when it all of a sudden stopped playing and went on to the next CD, then it kept rotating through the CDs and wouldnt play any CD and just keep going from 1-6 then keep going until I turned the power off. I could go through the tracks but it doesnt start playing anything, just pauses for a couple of seconds then goes on to the next CD. It was like it was rejecting CDs that have too many scratches but all my CDs played perfectly fine before and have no scratches or anything. All the CDs have been in the system for around a year or more.

This is the stock audio system, nothing aftermarket. Also, cassette player is working perfectly fine.

Any help would be appreciated, I'd really rather not take it into the dealership and pay hundreds for a new one.

Thanks

Common problem with g35s. Cheaper to get an aftermarket stereo installed.

Sound like the changing mechanism is screwed

Very common for changers to die due to the amount of moving plastic pieces.

Repairs usually range from $200-350 in my experience.

Most people nowadays prefer spending a little more and going aftermarket. Gives you things like ipod, dvd, mp3 playback etc.

very common, happened to most Nissan 6 cd changers, i heard from heat.

buy an aftermarket one, but be prepared to pay $$ for the double din kit they're expensive, and you have to get one.

Had that happen to mine too in the summer, aftermarket is the best bet, the repairs are too expensive.
