I like how they already have simulations of carrying 4 drift tires in the back in case you need to. LOL.

i really think the extra revs of 9000 rpm has to do with the max engine output when comparing the ITR to the FR-S...

but ya lol... already showing you that it can carry an extra set of tires....

Thinking more like 10.5:1.

200HP N/A out of a 2.0L is very possible with that ratio, and low boost friendly as well.

Looks pretty good:
LA Live: Subaru BRZ Concept- STI

Again it's just a concept so not everything will make it into production. I hope the STI comes with more power.

let's remember that this is Toyota that is making the engine here. Toyota always designs their motors very conservatively. I am betting that the ECU programming and camshaft profiles are dialed back for reliability and longevity. with the exception of a few engines, Toyota always builds engines that are non-interference. that means they have mild cam durations, so that always prohibits big power numbers from the factory.

cars like the ITR and other VTEC sports cars by Honda are all out sporty. they have aggressive cam profiles that definitely make good power on the high end, and make very good use of the high compression ratios.

I'm looking forward to see what the tuner market can do for the FT86. what does this engine have in terms of variable valve timing? or varible cam timing?

I just want a garage or company to try and turbo the thing, to see what the rear end limits are like,

im sure the motor is nice and stout, but if the rear frame will twist under like 400whp, then the car is useless,

but if the reviews turn out that everything on the car can handle huge horse numbers without breaking, il probably buy one

It's supposed to be tuner friendly, like the Civic. That's the selling point of the car. That's why the entry price is so low and the N/A motor only pissing out 200 horses. We shall see though.

Videos:

Spoiler!

I think I'd be more worried about how much power the tranny and diff will take before blowing up, than whether the frame will twist. The car would have to be pretty under-engineered to do that.

I don't pretend to be keeping totally up to date on this whole thing... but isn't it using an already available (in other countries) Subaru motor? Should be lots of info already...
