Isn't there a Helly Hansen outlet in that Outlet center in Blaine ? Although it was renovated, I haven't been to that center in 10 years.

Are you talking about Birch Bay Square? There isn't really anything there

Just came back from Portland.

The BEST food that I have EVER eaten is at....

Milo's City Cafe.

Seriously. Need to try their new york pepper steak. Best thing I've ever eaten. GF had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and we finished with a cheesecake. The hit? $30. I would have paid $50 for the meal. It was honestly the best meal I have ever had in my entire life.

I was just there for the long weekend, used PRICELINE and stayed at the BENSON HOTEL (Coast Hotel Chain) really nice old hotel, free wifi, valet $20/day unlimited in and outs. (70$ per night through PRICE LINE - Reg price was 160/night.
Went to Couture one night - nice place, partied with a few Seattle Seahawks.
Sand dunes are a must, good shopping at Pioneer Place downtown.
Advice - buy your alcohol - no places to open after 6pm to buy hard liquor. Beer is available everywhere.
Tram is free in downtown as well.

Enjoy.

Going to Portland for the 952065th time but still haven't experienced the sandunes.

This time is going to be different.

Where is the BEST/CLOSEST sandune place? I am trying to leave Portland at around 6am to get there by 11am. Booking recommended? There will be about 4-5 of us.

Thanks

BUMP -
going to portland this weekend - regarding sand dunes which one is highly recommended, and more importantly, which one is closest to portland as I'm only staying for two nights there and want to maximize activities.

Sand dunes are going to take up your entire day. Mostly because the closest one is 2hrs away and the minimum rental time is something like 4-6hrs? So if you're planning on sun duning, you'll leave in the morning and come back pretty much at night.

You'll probably grab dinner in Portland but everything else will be over at the beach!

pics of said sand dunes............

too lazy to search for it, lol

You can rent the quads or dune buggys by the hour.

When I was there and from all the websites I saw, all had a min rental of at least 4 hrs.

I could be wrong but do you know any that just charge by the hour?

Can't remember if this is where I rented from when I was there, but this place does hourly rentals. RideTheOregonDunes.com

Im in Portland right now, dunes is quite a drive away, worth it for some people, waste of time for others. Woodburn outlets aren't really that special either.

I heard its free transit in the DT core too and that portland is regarded as one of the best cities in North America when it comes to development and transportation/urban planning.

There are a good handful.

They are all within the same two block radius as far as I know. They basically take up a two parking lots. Its right by City Square Mall.
