Well today it lasted almost 16 hours before it got to red with 1 hour of browsing and 30 mins worth of BBM. I think I'm going to downgrade back to 7.0.0.540 tomorrow so I don't have to worry about battery. Although the new functions are quite useful, I'm not in need to use wifi hotspot and NFC at the moment anyways. Just going to wait for later builds.

Acutally battery life improved once the os settled in. I've had installed since last friday. Today it's a lot better. Been off charger since 8am and it's 75%. Just wierd for me because on the 9780 the battery life was fine just after an upgrade.

What are you trying to install? If you are trying to install OS 7.1 then you need to install it onto your computer. It's not an OTA upgrade.

Battery get's MUCH BETTER with .540. I highly suggest you guys to upgrade to this one for improvement with battery life. Or if you want to play around with wi-fi hotspot/NFC, go for 7.1.

You can get it at Rogers Plus stores for sure. They will sell it to you outright for sure as they are a corporate store. Too bad the price went up from 549 to 599 now lol
Just look for it on Craigslist though.. I got one for my mom like a little over a month ago.. BNIB for only $400

DavidNguyen 12-08-2011 10:03 PM

Your mom has 9900? Dang
My mom hates the style of phones now-a-days.
She misses the LG chocolate style phones.
Nice and simple for her.

How is the 9900? I'm planning on upgrading from my 9700. I don't want to hop on iPhone, but the SG2 grabs my attention. I need some honest views, no bias.

Thanks :)

Santofu 12-16-2011 12:57 AM

It's pretty much a upgraded 9700 with touchscreen imo.
The battery life kinda sucks tho.

BBMme 12-16-2011 01:49 AM

^
how can you say it's just an upgraded 9700?! lol
it's faster, smoother, web browsing 50x better, better os(imo), better keyboard and lighter=)
the apps are limited, but it has what you need.
and yes, the battery is kinda weak compared to the 9700

Simplex123 12-16-2011 10:29 AM

^Weaker but still not bad if you upgrade to the newest OS. Lasts 2 days for me if I use it lightly but always gets me through the day.

evil_jigglypuff 12-16-2011 10:40 AM

I am thinking of getting a 9900 sometime soon. My question is, would I be able to restore all my contacts, files, and apps I have on my current phone to a 9900 or to any bb for that matter with bb protect? I currently have a 9300.
