iTunes + iPhone4

I have a question for you savvy users out there. I tried to sync my iTunes library last night only to find that iTunes decided to randomly delete apps off my phone. So I did a "Transfer Purchases" option. Not only was it not able to transfer all my apps, my 'Others' has grown from under 1gb to now a whopping 4.3gb. My app count on my iPhone is greater than the iTunes count by about 40. No matter how many times I did transfer purchases, the top section shows a progress bar showing the same apps being transferred over and over, but it never appears in the Apps section in iTunes even though it says it is complete.

I think this whole thing happened during the process when it was transferring apps from my iphone to itunes but an error came up saying something about not enough disk space although my laptop had more than enough space.

The main question is, how can I reclaim this space back? Secondly, how can I transfer all my apps from my iPhone to iTunes?

I have did a search with my friend Google and I had no luck with getting this space back. I have tried updating my firmware, using 3rd party programs, and restoring from a backup.

My last resort is to Restore the phone to a brand new state. Before I do that, any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated. iTunes has been nothing but a pain in the ass for me.

Honestly i cant help you, never seen this problem. I rarely use itunes because it has too many flaws. Next time, just jailbreak it, you wouldn't have this problem since you can get apps and manage them straight on your phone.
