Take it for a test drive go over bumpy roads, get a good feel of the interior, slam the door and the trunklid, you'll want the used RDX as rawr has stated. Unless you have a serious hard on for new stuff. I'm not a fan of the CVT in the lancer which emits quite an annoying sound. Meh, it's give and take with this car. I suggest the hyundai tucson personally which is about the same price

i dont think we get the fender mirror in NA lol its for Asian markets to look @ the curb and parking lines.
I was a passenger when we test drove the 1.8L in HK and yeah it doesnt pull at all with 3 adults in the car, highly doube 0.2L more will do much.
but yeah the 2.0L Mivec engine is fairly underpowered, especially when it has to pull 4 wheels in 4WD mode where you get higher % of power lose. (its an AWD anyhow)
tho the AWC system is quite a tested system thats been used in the Outlander for quite some time, it does work. the 4WD lock does 50:50 and the normal 4WD will do 90:10 or so and reactively engage rear when needed.
The Interior is quite bland and plasticy (as with most of the current Mitsubishi lineup these days) Mitsubishis used to have better interior IMO. My family's 2000 Pajero was a luxurious beast inside.
Also at its price point fully loaded, I'd buy the Outlander for the V6 for more room and power.

I agree with this. I test drove one, way to underpowered for its size. Very noisy, and cheap interior bits.

It looks good, but as for power and handling, you'll really need to test drive one. If I had a choice, I'd get a used RDX or a brand new rav4 just because after buying an Evolution from them, I realize that I'll always be a Honda or Toyota guy.

I test drove one. I thought the interior was quite nice for a car in its price range. the dash uses a softer plastic, which I liked.

the ride quality is stiff, but good overall. suspension is well dampened, I think the Hyundai Tuscon is a little more stiff and jarring than the RVR. engine noise is quite noisy as others have mentioned. this is because of the CVT transmission. I guess Mitsubishi didn't do much to dampen the noise coming out of the engine and transmission.

above all else, go test drive the thing yourself!

My lancer seems to have no sound dampening at all either. I guess mitsubishi skips out on that.

Engine noise is way louder than other cars, and even having the radio at a comfortable hearing level, i can get out of the car, close the door and still be able to hear it clearly.
