| How do you manage your photo library?
Back in the old days like 2004, it was just windows and windows photo viewer.
Now I use Picasa, and Adobe Lightroom to try and manage. I like Picasa's interface, but really like Lightroom's editing abilities.
However, it seems like they can't be both used at the same time to manage since it screws up the indexing or something since the harddrive and almost needs to re-index the library or something. Thoughts?

IMO, I'd give up Picasa and stick with Lightroom.

Yeah... LR rules.
If you run MacOS, you could also try out Aperture. I find the controls to be a little more intuitive to LR. But the speed isn't as fast IMO when converting files.

Lightroom3 all the way, and keep redundant back-ups.

if you have a mac i would definattly recomend aperture! it has a great file management system with lots of options for organizing your work flow. makes exporting and adding a watermark verry easy aswell. verry powerfull editing program, i find i rarly need to step into photoshop when editing ( unless of corse iwant to do somethign more extravigant ) i have ben using it for 4 years now, i highly recomend it.

Capture One Pro 6 is awesome for shooting tethered, colour corrections and keystone corrections, but not very good for digital asset management - Aperture or Lightroom cannot be beat for that.
