| alternative soups for instant noodles?
I have some instant noodles and some udon noodles
I want to cook the noodles but I don't want to use msg soup packets.
are there any other good alternatives to make fast soup without those msg packets?
TIA

I bought this low sodium/no msg miso paste that dissolves and cooks instantly.
Or you can get a can of chicken stock and mix it with water. Yum.
But I'm proud to say, I haven't had ramen in a long time.

I almost always eat instant noodles now with a can of mushroom soup instead of the soup base they give you. It tastes awesome, and it's much more filling. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could chop up some broccoli and throw it in too.

freakshow that campbell's cream of mushroom probably has waay too much sodium which is the S in MSG. that's the stuff that makes you thirsty

Well if you want something healthy, it will take you roughly 5-15 minutes to make. Need some stocks and add whatever you like afterwards. People use "Chicken Stock" + Vegetables as the stock then add in whatever you want.
No guarantees it will taste good, depends on the person cooking.

I use an udon soy sauce base sometimes, just a light drizzle,
or something similar, I just buy a bunch of them at T&T every time I go,
and then top it all off with a little cumin, fresh thai basil, green onions, or those 7 spice medleys
this stuff: |

Mix it with a little bit of soy sauce. Done.
Last time, I tried doing it with msg packet + water + shredded cheese. Not bad! Theres a place in Hong Kong that's really famous for it. Posted via RS Mobile |

don't eat that much instant noodles anymore. but when i make vermicelli, i like using chicken broth, satay sauce and sometimes dipping noodle sauce (for zaru soba) as my soup base.

putting garlic spice back in with KD mix is essentially reimbursing the amount of MSG you took out when you decided not to use the soup pack lol

that's pretty good too. | So you take any package of instant noodles, boil them without any soup base and put a slice of kraft cheese on top?

1. boil the noodles
2. put the noodles on a strainer to get out all the excess water
3. put the noodles in a bowl
4. pour KD cheese packet in the bowl (the same amount as you would pour parmesan cheese on spaghetti).
5. use a fork or chopsticks to mix it all up, (heat from the noodles and the slight moisture from the noodles should melt and bind with the cheese powder)
