Memory Express price beat policy change Looks like the price beat days are over. Instead of beating the lowest price by 5% they've now changed it to beat by 25% of the difference. Still a savings but not as much. Called the uber price beat guarantee. |
when i bought my naga mouse last month, they were beating prices by 10%, that dropped to 5%... and now this? |
depends on how big of a price difference you can find. and sometimes an online retailer has a better price than both ncix and memX by a large margin (rarely). i liked the older policy better since we are in a city with NCIX stores haha. |
they wont beat the price if its a MIR but match it... ive tried.. damn it |

Im buying a TV tomorrow ;p |
Not surprised... they may have been losing money on some items with the price beat. For some items like CPUs where every single computer store sells the same thing, the margins on it can't be very high... and if they have to sell for 10% cheaper than the LOWEST competitors price, I would not be surprised if they weren't making any money, or even losing money. Item at ME: $999.99 Item at NCIX: $999.98 With 10% price beat: $889.98 With 5% price beat: $949.98 With 25% of difference beat: $999.98 Lose. |
with pricematch/beat you are always bound to have loss but their aggressive pricematch marketing's gained them tons of loyal customers im sure..25% of difference is still going to win many business |
was just in ME yesterday. Apparently from what the sales rep told me, they are doing a 25% off the difference/5% price beat. You can choose which one you want. |
Yea, she said it should be around forever. Pretty smart if you ask me. Should eat into the market that NCIX has been sorta dominating.. |
The thing I don't like about memory express is that when I order something online, I have to go to the store paid with my visa at the store and then wait till the items arrive then go pick it up. With NCIX I place the order online, paid online and then go pick up my order when it arrive. I don't have to go to the store 2 times. I live in BBy and even though MemoryExpress isn't too far but gas does cost money and going to Richmond 2 times might not be such a saving after all. If only Memory Express can fix their online ordering system. |
That's weird. It should be the same policy as if ordering online and shipping to you. They have the ability to process them online. |
it amazes me how these computer stores can stay in business. It amazes me even more is even with these guys around, people still buy computers from london drugs.... |

Pulling up an old thread. Does anyone know if ME still has the 5% price beat in store or is it only the 25% of difference now? |
damn i was reading the thread not realizing it was from 6 months ago whether officially or not...i am sure if you are somewhat of a regular customer they'd be more than happy to give you 5% beat...could be wrong as i haven't bought anything in few monthss |
