good bass/sound without sub setup

i have a huge amp powering 2 mtx subs atm. Amazing bass. but thining of getting rid of the sub setup, i know i will lose on bass but i want to keep decent sound quality (with little bass) without breaking my bank.

04 tsx. (with navi) cannot install aftermarket stereo as everything is controlled by central unit.

any ideas what setup should i go with.

thanks

You can still run aftermarket subs off the factory stereo. There's no real way to replace subs. You can change the speakers but they'll still only give you more mid bass. You basically need a subwoofer to play the low frequencies. No real way around it.

Doesn't the TSX have a factory sub already?

You can add a different deck into that dash. Subwoofers give more depth & output than woofers that would fit into your doors.
I have Pioneer woofers ($700.00) in my BMW doors with 150 watts a side tuned from 40 hertz to 160 hertz. I also installed $400.00 worth of sound dampening into those doors to accomplish that. I am still adding subs some time this week to fill in the rest.
Anything can be accomplished, but it'll cost you.

I have a 2005 TSX with an aftermarket deck that has bluetooth, USB and Ipod. The sound quality is much better too! Yes, it can be done. We do them all the time!

That said, I also have a 12" sub. You can do a flat 10" sub that will take up very little space and give you the bass you need. The TSX does NOT have a factory subwoofer. The TL does.

Let me know if you need a hand with your TSX. I know every square inch of the car...lol...

TSX Doesn't have sub?? Or did I mix it up with the new TSX? I'm pretty sure TSX has subwoofer though.

Bah, they look pretty similar LOL. Nice cars nonetheless.

im on the same boat.

having the navi really made our choices very limited as the HU is connected with the hvac so the stock HU has to stay in.

i ended up tapping the signal for subs and i just gave up. lol

its ghetto i know.

ill call in some time (save up some $, property tax time coming up :S), as said i cant get rid of navi as it controls everything, (however i do have ipod connected). maybe just need to re configure my amp/sub/speakers a little.
