AST at BCIT

Anyone taking or taken AST at BCIT? If so, how was it? is it worth the wait for a seat?

i applied in march to the ast (ford asset) program at bcit and at the time they told me i would be able to start in january 2012 or september 2011 if a spot opened up. i called them a week or so again to check my application status and i was told that the earliest start time for me would be may 2012 and possibly even january 2013. i can't attest to the quality of the ast program at bcit but the wait times combined with being misinformed i really didn't like.

anyway, i called vcc and enrolled there. i just finished my second week of class, and i can tell you already that it's great there. as far as i know the ita (industry training authority or whatever) sets the outline for what needs to be taught for each particular trade. so you'll be taught the same thing at vcc that you would be at bcit etc. the basics are essentially the same. best thing about vcc is that it's an actual working shop and air care repair centre. pretty cool, especially for future job opportunities.
