^I agree. Shadows > Barons.
A couple shops here in the bay area didn't get their shipment of Barons 
Was able to find a pair of the BHM mids for a buddy though over here.  | |

I have Shadows but still think the Barons are cool, definitely a Shadow x Blacktoe love child. Given that its a variant I wouldn't pay too much over retail. I agree with the others, for $280 go for the Shadows but if you want the Barons try to find a pair for less. The price may come down in a bit. Also some local Vancouver shops did not get their shipments yet so you may be able to cop at retail. Good luck with the hunt.

Baron 1s are nice and simple but the wolf grey nubuck heel put me off as well as the "baseball" stripped sock liner.
