Calling All Canuck fans in currently Hong Kong!!

Since Game 3 of Western Finals, I've been watching the games at a place in LKF called "Sideways". Surprisingly there was quite a lot of people watching there. So instead of watching at home on my own, everyone has been gathering and watching at Sideways.

Now since The Canucks are in the Stanley Cup Finals, I want to get this Vancouver hype going on in Hong Kong also!! So anyone who is in Hong Kong and is a Canuck fan, come join us at LKF for Game1!!

Sideways is located on Chancery Road at the stairs beside the Old Victoria Prison above Dragon-I.
This bar opens in the morning just for the Canucks, they have their closed sign up but you could just push the door and walk in!

Come join the crowd and support Canucks through the series =D

Damnit!

I'm in former Hong Kong; all they show here is soccer. Fu*king British Empire.

BTW; I will be in Taipei for a few days during the beginning of the cup final. I think there are a lot of people from Taiwan on here, so anyone know where to catch the game in currently Taipei? Appreciated.

Grand Central Bar & Grill at Elements Mall is where I watched the game while there. There were a lot of Canucks fans there too.

Just came back from HK and Beijing. In Beijing I watched game 1 live at Grinders Bar and in HK I watched Games 2 and 5 at Manchester Pub in TST which also showed them live. Decent enough crowd usually about a dozen people. Nice to see the support strong over there. I wasn't surprised that HK had a few places showing it but was rather surprised I was able to watch it in Beijing. Nothing beats waking up watching games and drinking at 8am.

Both Sideways and ManU Bar TST are good choices to watch the games in HK.

I just express shipped my friend some flags, a canucks foam finger and a towel. $250 for shipping just so it would arrive at his door in time for game 1.

I will be in HK for Game 2. Should I watch it at Sideways or ManU Pub?!? hmmmm

mx100 05-28-2011 06:53 PM

sideway has the better crowd, and Nick, the owner is a very nice guy. He opened the place up early in the morning just for people to go in and watch the game. Its not really a bar but he does serve drinks and alcohol. You get to sit in a racing simulator to watch the games :D

I'll probably head to Man U just because I live like 10 mins from there. And ManU is actually a pub so there will be tables and food / drinks served.

Yeah.. I don't really want to sit in a racing simulator to watch the game haha.
I will probably go to Man U pub to watch game 2.

elkayem 05-28-2011 08:20 PM

At Sideways you're allowed to bring your own breakfast.
And LOL You don't have to sit in the sims to watch the games, they have chairs and bar tables.

Hmm I would love to see how the crowd is like at Grand Central.

mx100 05-28-2011 08:41 PM

Grand Central was good for the Chicago series cause they open at 10am sharp.

But I don't think they will be open for the 8am / 9am games.

HondaGuy 05-29-2011 12:33 AM

Damn, wish I knew more of this thread during this last 3 weeks so I couldve watched the game on tv.

O well...gonna be leaving tomorrow...gonna miss the good food and weather.

Back to wet days it is. :(

!YaoShi 05-29-2011 01:00 AM

The guy on the far right looks like demitra. Lol.

Yeah I'm so glad I found out about this place. I didn't get to HongKong until the 3rd round and I've been watching Game1 and Game2 of the West Finals at home.

So who's down to join the Sideways group Thursday morning? I'm going for sure even if I had to go all the way from Kwun Tong to Central.
