The Most Dangerous Place to Camp
 

Camping out in Mt. Everest may be too hazardous given the unstable climate conditions aboard the world’s tallest mountain, but it doesn’t hold a candle to pitching a tent on the side of a 4,000ft sheer cliff face in Baffin Island, located in the Arctic.

Hanging tents in precarious positions is just part of what it means to be a modern day explorer.

Scaling these mountains can last for weeks and explorers need to set up tents on the edge of monstrous cliff faces to rest between climbs.

Im not going to bother putting up a tent if i cant have a fire.... Because there is no fucking way i would be in that position :eek:

Edit* and i am a bit accident prone at times so i would wake up and go to step out for a stretch...

now that i think of it, i'd much rather shit hanging off the side of the mountain, than shit squatting on the ground, it's just easier

For those that know about climbing... how do people put those anchors into the mountain?

Fuck imagine there was a rip in the bottom of the tent and you didnt know abt it and went to sleep...

im not 100% sure, but i believe they anchor everything in with little metal wedge looking things. you slip them into the cracks of the mountain and they wedge themselves in there pretty damn good and are able to hold hundreds of pounds.

modern day explorers? can't they just fly to the top -__-" Do these guys even have a dayjob?
