So far the news/rumor is that only 1 of the wii U controller can be used at once... I really hope that is not true.

Sounds true, coming from Miyamoto himself. I assume that there wouldn't be enough bandwidth for more than one, at least not while keeping the prices low.

Nintendo's stock has dropped every day since the Wii U announcement.

looks like an over sized psp lol but props to nintendo

eh i doubt that will happen for a loooong time

just like how it took dvd until a couple years ago to surpass vhs

if ye look @ HD movies you can download/rent from netflix/psn/ppv etc they look like shit and sound like shit

im sure it'll happen but by the time it does there will be something else to replace blu-ray that downloaded content cant compare with either

but quality might end up being a niche market like LPs for music i just cant see it happening for quite a long time yet.. time in which these companies like Nintendo/Apple/Microsoft can be making a killing (but microsoft and apple are invested in downloaded content so they're refusing to support blu-ray etc)

You can't compare it to DVD, it's a totally different era. Things happen much faster now.

Rentals are already being killed by online, and it's just a matter of time before online does the same to owning movies.

Eventually, we will never buy our media on physical discs ever again. Movies, TV, music, etc, will all be streamed to our various PC's, tablets, notebooks, phones, etc.

Look at Google Music, Amazon Music, and iTunes Cloud. it's happening already. Although itunes sucks and it can't stream for some stupid reason (expect them to add it later on for a price), the others do (along with many 3rd party services that do.

It's happening faster than you think :)

cloud services are too new, and i dont think they'll take off all that well either except for the geeks :)

especially cloud services on smartphones what with telecom companies in the states removing unlimited data and charging for everything they can (tethering... the hell? etc)

im not saying it wont happen i just think these companies are forcing things on to consumers a little too quickly hoping they'll adopt (spedn spend spend) and it'll fail like 3D :)

We'll see I guess. I think the popularity of netflix is just another indication. Microsoft is focusing on it, as we saw at e3 this week.

doesn't look too bad. looks fun with a group of friends.

I'll probably pass. Hopefully either the next xbox or ps4 keeps shit simple I still like just playing games with a regular controller and not having to get up or move around.
