Nintendo Wii U Nintendo just announced their new home console the Wii U. http://fastcache.gawkerassets.com/as..._detail_01.jpg http://fastcache.gawkerassets.com/as...troller_01.jpg Pretty cool concept and hopefully developers make good use of it. A full HD gaming experience with a new controller that features a 6.2inch touch screen that you can use along side with the TV or switch and just play on the screen. It's pretty cool to see a lot of devs onboard too. Battlefield 3 on the Wii U? Who would've thought |
The controller is huge though and seems awkard to hold for expended periods of time. Then again, i'll need use it first hand before I pass judgement. |
It looks like a Nintendo Game Gear! |
^exactly what i was thinking... i would rather get the 3ds |
the problem with this is Sony can easily replicate the experience through the Vita and PS3 however, the pricing is what will be the obstacle to this for Sony Media reports sugges that technically Nintendo can release the new console this year but settled to wait for 2012 release when the parts and the technology cost goes down i wonder how much Nintendo can sell a Wii U and 2 Tablet controllers package next year but skeptisism aside, im glad Nintendo didnt take a simple new console approach, good innovation for gaming, lets see how Nintendo can improve their 3rd party developer support this console |
That controller would be great for Poker and Madden. |
|
Another hands on: Looking at the videos it doesnt actually seem too bad, Just dont know why they sucked at presenting it at the nintendo press release. |
Definitely has potential.. |
hopefully this is the end for all that waggle nonsense |

I can just imagine remotes cost $100+ each. |
with the Wii U an actual functioning Wii console, dont expect a price drop on any of its accessories like the wiimote plus and nunchuck, that can already set you back $70 michael pachter did an analysis and with the console being a year away and can drop the cost to make it, most like the console will be sold at a price point of $300 since its still competing directly with ps3 and 360.. the touchscreen isnt multitouch, so thats one cost that nintendo cut corners with..behaves exactly like teh 3ds/ds touch screen [url="http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2011-pach-attack/715230"]Pach-Attack! isn't the controller itself in a competition with the 3DS? Wii U is a horrible name..worse than PS Vita edit: WTH...no blu-ray? |

their not going to license nintendo to use it |
blu-ray will take at least 5yrs as for license to expire & i read this on CNN (before E3 2011) that the price might be 500-600 which is a little pricey for the average house hold for sure so not sure how there gonna take care of that |
Blu-Ray being a Sony format has nothing to do with it not being on other consoles. Microsoft and Nintendo could have Blu-Ray if they wanted it. DVD was a Sony format too until 1997. Because the Wii U is using old generation DX9 hardware and cheap parts in the controller as well, I expect it to be around the same price as a Kinect or Move bundle. Maybe $50 more since it's "new" Extra controllers will probably be $100-130 |
Pretty Cool |
man... i can just picture it now.. your playing the game, but have the sudden urge to take a shit... have no worries, Nintendo thought of a plan.. haha.. |

This thing is pretty cool to be honest. I just hope they make more adult games that are not mii character orientated. Great start with BF3. Posted via RS Mobile |
The options are endless with the new controller. An RTS game like Command and conquer would be killer on this. |
think about this, you can finally play multiplayer games without cheaters looking onto your screen... haha.. its awesome... |

For example allowing Microsoft to use a Blu-Ray player in Xbox (or to create an addon) even though Microsoft never bothered they were allowed to by the BDA. There were some other things regarding the film industry cant recall (think it was allowing a dying but rival film company for putting its movies on blu-ray; yeaaaars ago) |
Microsoft and Nintendo both know that physical media for movies is old news. Blu Ray is a dead end format, for the mainstream at least. Posted via RS Mobile |
