BTW, what are your guys temps for the 2500K?
Not sure if it's because of the warmer weather now but I feel that my previous i5-760 was cooler than my 2500K?
My current temps are 30C on the coolest core and 37C on the hottest core.

I heard idle temps are not reliable measurements. Instead we should work with the load temps. I ran my stock 2500K (w/ CM hyper 212+ in stock config) through Prime 95 for about an hour and the max I could get it was 52C. The ambient temp was 27C. When I have more time I'll reseat my cooler and try more programs.
Also, have you guys been following Bulldozer news? This is pretty interesting: Bulldozer performance figures are in |

Hmmm something must be wrong with my cooler then?
I'm getting 57C on the hottest core under load. I've tried reseating the H70 twice coz the first time i put on too much tim.

i saw the white 600T in person at ME few days ago..damn it's nice I think i'll get it for my upcoming build.
I wonder if it's going to be on sale though since demand is pretty high (I saw the regular 600T on sale for $120)

It also looks like you're now using Sickleflows on the radiator? Try swapping back on the stock fans because the Sickleflows are meant to be case fans and not heatsink/rads.
Oh and make sure the pump is running 100% (the right plug on mobo/the right setting in BIOS)
Try these out and lmk!

I'm aware and made sure pump was running 100% (disabled smart fan in BIOS).
You're right, I'm running Sickflows on the rad. Only started using them when I put my 2500K build together so maybe they are the culprit. I'll try switching them out.
Also, I'll try to re-apply the TIM using rice grain technique coz I still think I have too much TIM applied.
Thanks for the help though
I have two sound cards up for graps.
Any of you guys interested?
Got a two weeks old Asus Xonar DG and a Creative X-Fi Titanium

I heard a pea sized dot is the best.
I'm using Innovation Cooling Diamond 7 carat thermal compound on my 2500k. Although my temps are high cause the case is small and doesn't have as good airflow.
Squirt a dot in the middle the size of a pea and apply heatsink. Do not lift up to check it. Application |

Whoaaa NCIX has Fractal Define R3 and Noctua NH U12P for only $100. The damn case is worth that much on regular sales! Would be perfect for the HTPC i've been wanting to build. Quote:

I've seen an 800D IRL...I'm pretty sure I can fit inside it. If you want a really good deal on one, pull an all nighter at one of the warehouse sales. Last time I saw the 650D, 700D, and 800D each for $100.

Hmm... I'm now torn between the Fractal Design Define XL and the Corsair 800D...
Both cases look great, however the sound dampening walls on the Define XL are attractive to me. Considering that my 560 and CPU are running at 27degrees C, I don't think I'll be going with water cooling anymore.
But the 800D looks amazing with the window and clean edges... So many choices haha.

Update
The lighting on the bottom is a 48-LED strip off eBay with a molex 4-pin connector soldered on like joquio's. Looking to pick up some Gentle typhoons and sleeved extensions in HK...anyone have suggestions as to where I should look first?

Thanks'd.
Part 2 of my modding adventures: swapped out the blue LEDs for white ones. First checked voltage supplied to the LEDs from the PCB were 3V (I bought LEDs that took 3-3.4V), and read 2.91 on my multimeter. Then desoldered, resoldered, and hot glued it all. Here are the best photos I can take with the equipment available to me (a P&S and a Blackberry):
Very hard to see but there's a greyish white glow now up top.

Yeah, I can see the greyish white.
Looks clean so far.
Is that a 470 or 570 you got there?
I see you also went with a Gigabyte mobo. Which model?

Geby nice build
won't that red lighting become an annoying glare next to your tri-monitor set-up after a while?

Does anyone else have issue with the HDD LED flickering? | I have the same case in black, love it. If you use 3 or less HDDs you can move half the stack in the middle and remove the empty one...it would remove any blockage in the front 200mm fan and give you better airflow.
Did you have extra lights added to it? Looks so bright o_o

LOL unhealthy thread is unhealthy...looking fwd to the build pix though!
Here's the latest shot, an Enermax Cluster fan in the back. So bright it drowns out my hard work on the top fan.
Its super loud and runs full speed because its connected via "4pin -> molex" and not the 3pin my fan controller accepts. Now I gotta go hobo-mode and look for a fan with the right plug so I can mod the adaptor to work. Maybe I'll go butcher my stock cooler.
goal:
And finally, new cable porn.
looks pretty tidy, right?
mind blown |
