De-installing compustar PRO

I have a compustar pro in my 1994 miata, and am wanting do de install the thing. I am in the process of tucking my harness, so right now the dash is out of the car, so I can see most of the alarm mess now.

My question is, how hard would it be to de install this thing, ie? how many factory wires were cut (ignition, starter etc...)

From your description, I would have to say that it would be a prime time to either install it or uninstall it.

How much would it cost? How long will it take?

To uninstall one, we simply remove the brain, sensors, bypass and antenna. We leave the wiring harness because a new one is only $40.00

To install one is going to set you back $100.00 or more depending on which alarm you have and what kind of extra options you'd like hooked up.

Does that help?

Oh, to add to Installerz answer, if you ever need a mobile job, we can do that no problem. We helped out a Revscene member recently who could not start his car because of an old alarm system that went haywire. We went straight to his house and ripped it out for less than it would have cost to tow it and remove it at our shop.

Just something to think about for next time.

$50 to take it out and another $40 for the new harness so you can re-install it with some fresh new wires. Thats the most cost-effective way to do it.

The alarm is already out of the car, is $100 a fair price to sell it for.? I have both remotes, and it has remote start.

$100 is fine as long as you have all the parts with it.

Thanks orgasm-donor for all your help, just would like to confirm what all the parts would include.

I am assuming the brain, shock sensor, paging antenna, both remotes, harness.

Sorry for the hijack.

I find my Compustar will on occasion start the car randomly or initiate the starter randomly? I hate my compustar. I never know what the hell its going to do next.

haha, I know Mike. Just don't feel like dumping money fixing something I do not want. I definitely want to replace this pos with something with NO autostart and will be going to you when that time comes!

Do you have any idea why it does that though?
