| Wide Angle Car Cameras
Long story short, cars have been backing into me lately while I am parked. They are all super low speed collisions so it's hard to prove liability and damages.
I remember that RCubed has a kick as unit.
How much do they cost? I am looking to spend around $500 with labour.
How does it work? I want it to work while I drive AND parked.
Where does it go? Is it visible to attract break-ins?
Links, source, shops, sponsors, quotes?

You shouldn't need to spend that much on a system. I'd get an aftermarket deck w/ LCD that has a backup camera input input in it then choose any camera with a composite video signal output. That way, you aren't clogging up your dash with a single-purpose LCD and you'll be able to upgrade your existing HU. Then go to any of the installers on this website and get them to install it for you.
Things to look for:
-IR
-mirror input in camera (fixed) or on input (selectable)
-lens (2.9mm should be good for parking purposes)

I am looking for a unit that video records the front view. Posted via RS Mobile |

What you need is a 12 volt DVR http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PRO-I...fAudioQ5fVideo
Single camera ones should be cheaper.
I would use a back up camera mounted on the front license plate frame so you can catch there plate numbers.

We did a mini DVR/camera just today for a lady that was experiencing some vandalism. Price was only about $350 including parts and labour. We just used a mini Kodak video camera and a custom mount. Pretty dope! Oh, and it is HD as well.

No I don't. Sorry.
I can show you where/how I did it if you come by the shop.

$350 is a reasonable price. How long did it take?
Does it record sound? Posted via RS Mobile |

Yes it records sound.
It took me a couple of hours to install it. You will also need an inverter as well so the unit can be powered up over night.
