The Twisted Underground stealing auto photos and cropping out watermarks

Just a heads up to everyone, be careful of other people stealing photos and cropping out watermarks

The Twisted Underground stole pictures from Mayday Garage (They took the pictures of the red widebody NSX) and they have been doing post edits and post deletions. Twisted Underground cropped out Mayday Garage's watermarks for some S2000 photos. More info here:

Posting anyone's photos that are not your own is theft. Doesn't matter if he put his name at the top. He was never given permission to use the photos by the photographer. Cropping/editing/removing the watermark is even worse.

...so I guess revscene members are stealing photo's too, because I see tonnes of photo's/video's posted with no credit. Point is, OP made it sound like a big conspiracy..its just a photo of an engine bay, not something unique and artistic, and it was just posted on a discussion board, not a magazine...this photographer needs to lighten up.

It depends on how badly the photographer wants to protect their property. Technically yes, the people who took the pics RS members post up randomly have the right to ask us to remove them.

Using someone's pics without permission is one thing, but removing the watermark really puts it over the top.

UH OH ALL OF RS IS GOING DOWN!!

Although this may be true, I think OP is overreacting provided credit was given.

As for permission, I don't think most pictures anyone posts on RS people have permission to post. Especially the "adult" photos.

Just like the movies we all download, the music, etc etc.

Unless the photographer intended to charge his work and faces weren't revealed, isn't this just more exposure?

As long as you aren't Hyde claiming you own half of the exotics in the world I don't see why this is a big deal.

I am saying all this as long as watermark isn't cropped/edited out.

Wrong. Copyright laws apply online and anything you publish online is inherently copyrighted to you.

Facebook members willingly upload their own pictures, and agree to Facebook's terms and conditions.
